Re: The Lounge

dayum alex. it's 12:30am but I'll bet the people in those apartments think it's 12:30 pm!

Re: The Lounge

sorry to hear about how it was delivered. That pic reminds me of that movie Ace Ventura. I'm sure wimmer can find a suitable gif for this!

Re: The Lounge

Alex, what is your opinion of the X65vn now that you've had time to play around with it?
the brightness is on a whole other level. All you can do it laugh when you flip it on. Literally anything past 100 yards is lit up like day light. The nw tint is perfect

Great news. How's the heat on 50%, 70% and 100%? Any guess as to how long you would run each before throttling down?

Re: The Lounge

Wow congrats Alex, you have the beast of all LED beasts!

These neutral white numbers are very good...

Spec 2: XHP35 Neutral White + DriverVNX2 + Improved Thermal Efficiency $580
ANSI
Lumen: 10,500
Lux: 620K
Throw: 1,575m

Re: The Lounge

I guess this must be the one that supposedly has my T6vn scared.

TN40Svn
$350
Spec 2 XHP35 HI 5000K, Neutral max throw
ANSI
Lumen: 8,700
Lux: 500K
Throw: 1,414m

MAD777 is this the one you have or... if not what's the difference?

Yes, that's mine! 😊
Except I bought it when you had to buy two lights to merge them into one, handle & head. So mine is more valuable, because I paid more! LOL

Identical specs though.

Re: The Lounge

I've been tempted by the TN40Svn due to the size. At 9k lumen 1%, 5% and 15% will be plenty bright where the rest will be super bright but with limited usage due to heat. I feel this is a reminder as to why I'd like to see 30% on mode group 11 in addition to what is already there. Great balance between output/throw/heat. With lights these days being so high output more flexibility is nice though I admit we already have that by being able to switch to different mode groups just nice to have 1 that has it all [emoji28].

Re: The Lounge

Or to phrase it another way, "How long does it take to hard boil an egg in its shell, without water?"

I know right? It's impressive the heat lights create these days. I think we are getting to a point where manufacturers will need to start figuring out alternative methods to getting rid of the excess heat. I believe Olight is working on a light with built in fan cooling? Not sure.

High mode gets hot very fast. like its quite warm at 1 minute. Which i can accept. the heat from 10,000+ lumens has to go somewhere...The modes are very nice. I will test tonight how long the highest and second highest mode can be on for before turning down.
