Im with Vinh, the beam would make other pencil beams look like flood lights lol. It might do over 1m kcd but if the hotspot at 1500 feet can only light up 1 tree its not very useful. This light needs 2400 lumens or more to justify the sizeYah but a light so big like the TN42 putting just 700-800 lumen is kinda wasteful. 30% more lux doesn't translate to much more throw although the bragging rights is cool. I am trying to see if I can produce a dedome XHP35 HD version to out throw the HI version while keeping lumen north of 2400...Wish me luck :-)
Well put Mr mad:)Dang these look nice!
What a great job Vinh is doing!
(as usual)

I have a Fenix cl25r that I like. It can go from barely visible to being bright enough that it is unpleasant, quite frankly. About the size of a soda can, rechareable, and comes with one 18650, it's all one needs for lantern. Oh, and it has red output too. Only negative is the white light is a little on the cool side.Okay, completely off-topic, but what are the community’s collective thoughts on the best lantern for family camping?

All I have is a couple of Coleman lanterns so I place a woman's thin yellow scarf over it and bingo... perfect.
You gotta have about a dozen of them scarves though cause they burn up pretty quick.
Looking for suggestions about how to connect the shoulder strap to the RC40vnT without scratching the light. So far I've been looking at paracord options but the problem is that 550 cord is to big so a smaller paracord is needed. If anyone has any suggestions of other options let me know either here or by pm. Thanks in advance.
