Im with Vinh, the beam would make other pencil beams look like flood lights lol. It might do over 1m kcd but if the hotspot at 1500 feet can only light up 1 tree its not very useful. This light needs 2400 lumens or more to justify the size

I have a Fenix cl25r that I like. It can go from barely visible to being bright enough that it is unpleasant, quite frankly. About the size of a soda can, rechareable, and comes with one 18650, it's all one needs for lantern. Oh, and it has red output too. Only negative is the white light is a little on the cool side.

We've been using a kerosine lantern for warm vibes but kinda smelly... oh and the H20vn stuck to side of a vehicle or wrapped around a branch.

There's a CPF member in Europe that restores vintage lanterns to hicri led and 18650.
They're beautiful but a little pricy (Look worth it!)
 
All I have is a couple of Coleman lanterns so I place a woman's thin yellow scarf over it and bingo... perfect.

You gotta have about a dozen of them scarves though cause they burn up pretty quick.

+1 for the Fenix CL25R. It's the one light that I am guaranteed to use every night. 350 lumens is plenty and it will run the battery right down to 3.0V and cut off automatically. It's really small ( about the size of the battery carrier for a 4 x 18650 light ), and I like the temp, which is more NW than CW, though cooler than a non LED lantern. Swap out the Fenix battery for any flat top unprotected or protected 3400/3500 battery and it runs for a long time.
 
Looking for suggestions about how to connect the shoulder strap to the RC40vnT without scratching the light. So far I've been looking at paracord options but the problem is that 550 cord is to big so a smaller paracord is needed. If anyone has any suggestions of other options let me know either here or by pm. Thanks in advance.

If you look at the Fenix site, it appears that the RC40 has an optional strap and maybe a fitting to screw into the body of the light. Check out the Fenix site and scroll through the pictures. That might help
 
Yes it does. The portion that connects to the tail of the light is metal so it will scratch up the light. My plan was to buy something, like paracord, that can be looped to the bottom of the light but has a keyring for the strap to connect to. This way the paracord rubs against the light that won't cause it to scratch etc. Unfortunately 550 paracord is to thick so I have to either find 425 or 325 paracord or something like it but another problem is I have no idea how to make it into what I want so trying to find someone who can. Also open to alternatives.

Figured it out. Went to a local place for some 550 paracord and watched a YouTube video and here is the end result. Don't have to worry about it chafing the bottom now.
