I've programmed 10 or so Zebralights, but only one at any given time. I can see that it would be maddening to exquisitely program even half that many in one sitting.

Please consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin.
 
i've only programmed a couple lights in a sitting. i have to take a break after that for sure.
i am able to do two at a time. one in each hand clicking in sync.

btw, i don't use g5. that would be even more clicks if you factor that in, but i don't think it's reasonable.

There's no reason to re-invent the wheel a thousand times. Anduril 2 exists and would fit ZebraLights well. Since it's open source they could even modify it to their hearts content and make it similar to the current UI, but better.
 
i actually prefer ZL to aduril for an everyday light, but it's personal taste.

btw, i noticed a mistake in my calculation. it's closer to 650 clicks to program the settings in my example. i updated my explanation. it is a genuine frustration. i think that anyone arguing against me on this must have never fully programmed a ZL, lol.

i explained in detail my method and rationale for using it. i once more ask for you to do the same if you disagree. otherwise, the argument is not persuasive.

i apologize, but another winnie the pooh quote is not going to cut it.

I don't understand what you're doing, but I can do it in 80 presses per mode group or less, and I always make it so it's LMH, but so that double click from off goes to turbo.

to even enter programming mode in a single group is 72 total clicks for its six sublevels

six double clicks * 6 sublevels per group = 12*6 = 72.

it is not possible to finish the job in 8 clicks. even if you only wanted to adjust each sublevel up one single bump in brightness, that would take two clicks for each one. that would be 12 clicks.

also, i apologize to everyone for how tedious this has become. i should probably stop making my point as i've done it already.

What is the reason that you must program it the way you do? Would it surprise you to learn no one else in the Universe insists on finding the one program that uses the most presses possible? Is it remotely possible there is a program that would satisfy you that uses less presses? I assume you are programming so many Zebralights because you are gifting them, and that is awesome. But I just want to throw this out there: you're denying your recipients the same joy you apparently get from programming Zebralights. I want to help you, I really do. But you are doing it to yourself and blaming Zebralight, yet also have no inclination to compromise. Your time is more important. Please stop, for your own sake. Let it go. Live on the wild and dangerous side for awhile and try something new.
 
i believe i have clearly demonstrated that even using the most efficient method possible still uses "several hundred" clicks to get to the brightness levels in my example. those are what i actually use, btw.

i do not understand how someone can argue a point with such tenacity without clear explanation of their position. will you not share your algorithm to get here?

they are free to change my settings to what they like. nothing i do prevents that or makes it harder. i only started doing it because everyone i gave them to (like me) was bewildered that a single click turns it on to a blinding brightness level.

also, there is little joy in the endeavor after you do it a few times. trust me. it is very tedious, as i have bent over backwards to demonstrate.

You are right about the number of clicks. First we need to enter each mode, then go down to 1 or go up to 12 and count the desired level, then check again, etc. It's fun:clap:

The more different programming options in different flashlights, the better for memory development. If the flashlight program had 10 different programming options and changed them randomly every 2 hours without informing the user about it, it would be interesting. It would be necessary to understand what type of programming is worth now and remember how to use it. Or would ask beforehand the solution of some example in mathematics or physics in order to gain access to programming, I would like to have such a flashlight
 
Oh I'm pretty much the same:

i like it. i am sort of surprised you don't have a 12 in there somewhere, though. i guess you don't care about showing off :)

Level 12 is useless, however, like level 11 - 1-3 minutes and stepdown due to overheating. In one of the reviews, it was mentioned that at the upper levels, the steel spring in the tail gets very hot and this also affects the quick brightness reset (I have H600c)

On a handlight, 1 minute of high brightness with stepdown might be a good for some applications, but for a headlight, it's more important for me to run at a certain level without stepdown, so I tweak them a little lower

Or just go to L1 (usually I put L1 in memory), do 2 clicks to L2, do 1 click to turn off, do 1 long click to turn on L2, do 6 clicks to enter mode, do 2 more clicks to 12 level, do 2 more clicks to make sure, do 1 click to turn off, and again 1 long click to turn on L2 on 12 level
