A Friend of mine has the D25ti Stock and he thinks its great - which it is.. However I do want to pull mine out and show him up. Ive told him about these modded lights and he seems to think there a waste of money, said something like "mine is bright enough" which is true but ... well we all know the brighter the better...

What do you think to the DHT model?
Out of the 3 spec for the D25Cvn which would you go with?

I do like the Toolvn if choosing this I would go with the Copper Version.
Im going to try and get some beam shots up! But deep down think its going to be the D25Cvn with a DHT all over!

My next light after that I would like to be the RC40vnT as I think it would be the most impressive thrower, so best get saving some pennies for Vinh
 
It is bright enough out of the box, but then the Ford Fiesta can do 100mph and is fast enough................

Some people get it, others dont, some will come round once they see for themselves...........others still wont come round so you just give up trying with them :laughing:

Love the DHT, really makes it special!

Being a Ti light, crazy high output it will glow hot quick!, but there are low modes for longer uses............. so i would be going off a useful beam of nice tint due to it being an edc type light(multi/general use).

I would be going for a nichia 219B 4500k or 219C, if for more throw, then the xpl HI in 4000 or 5000k flavour. PDT if you want the best throw/tint...........(premium dome tint). My taste and wants/needs maybe completely different to yours, like me asking you what colour T shirt to buy. Point is, you need to decide if you want general use type beam with reasonable reach and flood, more of a thrower and then what tint preferences from warm to cool and most in between,

If you want crazy bright and just to impress then

D25Cvn V3
- Both version will have a Max high of ~4.5A and ~ 1500 LED Lumen with XPL 5700K
- High Quality IMR16340 Only
- All LEDs mounted on copper
- Runs 2-3 minutes until uncomfortably hot to hold with fresh charged cells

If you want to enjoy it for general tasks more than impressing someone, get a nichia 219B in it, enjoy the colours .............it should still impress them. My advice is by the light around what you want, not just to impress someone else as you need it to be enjoyable long term. Crazy throwers are cool for showing off.............every now and then with the opportunity. Daily use for me is more important, not saying anything is wrong with either way, just you have to decide on what you want for you. I am at a different stage to you, i love high outputs and throwers, but they get less use than the smaller lights i find, lumens at the start are cool, still are.............but there is more to lights than just output(did i say that!). Your at the start of your journey and its fantastic, i still love high output, but more for dedicated uses . Triples/quads i get more use out of daily for the wall of useful light , tint on close up uses is important for me, i have even a broad spectrum of temp, 4000k to maybe 6000k as long as no angry tints in there. My outputs are satisfied, my tint options too..........for now! , so my choice would be different if makes sense so cant really say go for something i would get as you may not be happy.

So from what it looks like you want, the 5700k(nice cool tint) and 1500lm version! That would be the one i would say buy for you right now. In time this may change:thumbsup:

The rc40vnT is a beast and a usable one at that, decent run times without the heat issues in a very high quality light!

What a great post and all this is true.

I suppose you have to go through the stages of the journey to appreciate the nichia etc... Your right at the minute its about lumens and how far the thing can throw!

The D25Cvn will be my Dress light, when we go pub my mate takes his one as its pretty dark around here at night and he got his for self defence purposes so id also like mine to be just as useful in a bad situation - so with this in mind, which would be the best spec for blinding a would be attacker and secondly for throw as my mate seems to think his is the dogs b0llocks lol

By the way which version is the 1500lm one?
 
If your primary use is blinding strobe, then Spec 1. The XPG2 is the thrower, concentrating beam. You'll also program it to come on strobe on the first click.

Honestly though, if that were my intended use, I would go with TX25Cvn. Similar size light, but nearly twice as intense. Not a looker though.

What ever you do , dont have intentions of strobing someone, not only is it forbidden to get into defense stuff as it ends up touching a tricky topic, i will just say one point though, strobing someone who is drunk from a pub is not a wise option, it will antagonsie at best, can turn things wro,ng quick so stick with EDC uses and strobe for elite forces or trained LEO's (law enforcement officers). Dont mean that funny, just honest and straight to the point.

I wouldn't do this, It could only be good for defending a knife attack - its just good to know you have the power tho if ever needed.

Whats the figures for the Nichia one?
 
Not listed but it's not for high output , it's for hi cri (colour rendition) , would guess for 4-500lm maybe , no idea . Even at that output it will get warm/hot fairly quick! Depends on your wants , you want max output so nichia is not that one (even though it is actually a high enough output for the light!). Subjective again :) Of you want max throw then the xpg2 de-dome is the one, this is also impressive.
