Wanting a smallish thrower.

Klarus G35 vs Catapult V6 vs ??? Something in the 100.00 range. Been out of the loop for a few years. We are needing to light up markers and crab trap buoys on the waterway at night so we don’t run into them.

Look at the Nitecore P30. It is a single 18650/2 CR123 light, with a 2" reflector head. The size gives it a great center beam, especially on the higher modes, while the spill is enough to light up the immediate area without being bright enough to affect one's ability to see detail at the end of the center beam. It is also small enough that it fits comfortably on my belt, and would probably carry well in a large coat pocket. I would recommend using one of the belt style lanyards to keep from losing it overboard. The best part is that at ~$65 USD, with some judicious shopping now that the holidays are upon us you could probably get two and stay close to if not withing your budget. Remember the mantra!

Catapult V6 is a freaking FLAME THROWER. It actually pushes up t 1800 lumens out the front with 26650 support! The Catapult V6 has a very good thrower beam profile. In my experience the Olight Javelot M2 and M3XS have what I consider to be PERFECT thrower beam profiles. Both have such concentrated hot spots you could land low flying aircraft with them.

They do NOT have the astonishing near 1800 lumen out the front output though. The V6 profile is still more than good enough though. The PRICE the V6 goes for is astonishing. My V6 did not come with a holster though! Other folks got their V6's with holsters?

Yeah definitely the CatV6, but I've got a micro mag thrower that's really impressive too. It's smaller than an Eagtac TX25cVN yet noticeably more powerful.

I'm not really into that type of light... but I took a look at the V6 for fun... I have to ask, does ANYONE use the "firefly" mode on something like that?

I have a V6 in NW and like it alot, very impressive for it's size. I also just ordered a G35 since it was $60 shipped to try out, i dont expect there to be a night and day difference between them. Only thing i dont like about the thrunite is its hard to find the switch in the dark.

A lot of nice things have been said about the BLF GT Mini. If I already didn't have more flashlights than I know what to do with I would get one for myself.

If you consider GT Mini, consider Emisar D1S. Very similar light.
Think about Maxtoch Archer as well. UI-wise it can't compete but performance is truly awesome for the size.
