Why do you like flashlights?

My fascination goes back to my childhood when I first found my dads 3 cell maglite and went outside on a smokey night with friend and used them as light sabers. Since then I have been hooked. Only recently have I looked into good flashlights. My first bright one was a 2xAA energizer rated at 185 lumens. Now I have a Fenix LD22 and plan on buying a brighter one soon.

I just like being able to look for something that I lost/dropped in a dark place and know that I will not have to fumble around in the dark ever again...lol It's also a great thing to have where I work. I work in inventory and sometimes I have to count parts that are in the back of a dark shelf. It makes it SO MUCH easier to count accurately when you have a bright little pocket light. :D

Flashlights are a necessary part of a lot of jobs. What got me into high end lights (Surefire) was getting locked into the basement of a 200 year old commercial building. With no lighting other than my 2aa mini mag ican. I went to the local gun store and bought a G2 ican the next day.

Dude. You push a button and after that, with no moving parts, you produce LIGHT. Pretend your Bill & Ted visiting Napoleon and hand him a flashlight.....

I don't care what anyone says, thats BAD AS can be right there. People have no idea, if mobile lighting wasn't possible the entire world and how we perceive it would be completely different.
