Killdeer are here in Tucson year round. In winter the population is augmented by migrating birds from the north.

A particularly memorable little State48, desert mountain foothills 'round-tailed' ground squirrel I met last weekend.

This scene is very familiar to me over the last 2 decades, but this particular photo is really only 'memorable' because I stuck it on my notebook desktop background and never changed it, so I see it every day.

What I thought was this was a great photo. Also - it was the place where as we were walking back from supper, a little cool close to the Ocean, my co-worker said "this would be a great place in the summer". My comment was "Mike, it's the second of August". To be fair, we were both wearing light jackets.
