Zebralight: off centered led on forehead being an issue ?

Hi guys,

A quick question to Zebralight headlamps owners.

When worn with the headband, did you find the "off centered" LED being a problem ? I mean, even if the headlamp is perfectly in the middle of your forehead, because of the design of the light, the light will be slightly on one side or the other.
Just wondered if any of you found that annoying or difficult to manage on a daily basis ?

Obviously, maybe the solution would be to centre the LED, then the headlamp will be slightly off centred on your forehead :thinking:
Because of that, I'm possibly considering the Spark SD52-NW.

ive never been bothered by any headlamp being off centered. i honestly dont even notice it. but the headlamps i use have more floody type beams.

I am right handed, and prefer to operate the button with my thumb. This works well because my right is 'dominant', or at least it is my favorite.
So the asymmetry is not a negative issue.

Does it affect the beam in any way? I have a off center light and it happen to be a McGizmo, but it is still centered to its partnering reflector so no issues with the beam pattern. IMHO if there is a significant degrading in the output and/or beam pattern, then the light should be fixed....my 0.02cents

Nope, never found it to be a problem at all.

Never had a problem but I do sometimes bias the led to one side or the other for angle or keeping my hands out of the beam to avoid shadows.

Initially, when i first received my ZebraLight H50 headlamp

(nearly 5 years ago), I thought it might be a factor.

But it doesn't bother me in the Slightest !

Even with my newer H51fw model, and its somewhat narrower beam,

this is totally nothing to be concerned about.

Totally agree with everything said here. Even if you have a laser-thin beam, it wouldn't matter. There's no way you could tell the difference in a few millimeters. Even if the beam was angled funny you can always adjust the position on your head. In fact, your body will automatically do minute adjustments. ... If you like it, buy it!.
