If you want to know the voltage of the battery, Yes. ZTS meters give a percentage of the state of charge.

I use both.

The ZTS MBT-1 checks battery up to 800mAh load depending on battery being checked.

The ZTS MBT-1 will work on most batteries.

The up to 800mAh is the load placed on the battery and NOT the capacity of a battery. I test 26650 batteries with as much as 5200mAh with my tester.

Thanks for the replies! Think I got now 800mah is max load and depending on the type of battery there could be less than 800mah.

Yes, the load would very depending on the battery being tested.

On the meter, there a positive spot or dot for 3.6v but nothing for 3.7v.

From my use the 3.7 volt setting is for charging certain batteries designed to 4.35 volts instead of 4.2 volts.

In either case the tester used at 3.6 volts is how I check the few 18650 at 4.35 volts I do have.

The 4+ volt battery do you wait till they drop down to about 3.6v before you check it on the ZTS tester or it doesn't matter. At what percent you have to stop using lithium battery before you have to recharge?

There is no absolute answer, I try to learn from experience when my batteries are near 3.5 volts and try to have them recharged at that point. I have already charged replacement batteries always at hand.

I use the load tester after charging to see how batteries perform relative to a static voltage reading. A load test is a good indicator of battery balance too after recharging.

That is one thing I'm lacking experience. Buy doing a load test after charging, will tell you if the battery is properly getting charge and the charger is working properly?
