Sprint Run!

I'm getting ready to post a sales thread for another 'Sprint Run' of lights... this time we've got a pair of CREEmator complete lights plus a KROMAGNUM and a PM6-K2T-1500mA HA-BK flashlight. Will post a link here as soon as the thread is up. Get ready... get set...

Come on Milky we're waiting!!! :grinser2: I'm really keen to see the specs on that Kroma!

PS. I've been using my U2by2 everyday - it is a absolutely amazing light! I have another U2 which will have to pack its bags to go on a plastic surgery trip to the USA!

Alin10123, as usual I'm running a little behind on getting back to you and a few others... and even in getting the latest sprint run posted. I'll get there! If you don't hear back in a reasonable timeframe, feel free to give me a little reminder nudge, and thanks for your patience.

Fresh Out Of The Labs

Can anyone guess what this is?

Hint: It's roughly 700 bulb lumens, 10,000 lux at 1 meter, and 45 minutes of runtime in a 6.5 inch package. :naughty:

If I guess what it is, will you build one for me?
What does it run on? Will it do primaries?
Multi level?

TELL!

PLEASE?

Yes, I'll build one for you, assuming we're on the same page as far as budget and which components I need to source, and which you'll provide.

It doesn't do primaries at present but is very happy on a single 18650 rechargeable.

This one is single brightness but multi-brightness is certainly possible.

I wasn't quite placing the order yet! I am just getting very excited about the future of the multi-die LEDs. I was just thinking this morning of what you could do with them. I might decide that something along these lines is more in line with my needs instead of having you dump a half dozen (or more) leds and reflectors into my M6.

Each (single P7 vs. multiple single-chip emitters) has its advantages. Since LED efficiency tends to be better at lower drive levels, the multi-emitter approach does tend to offer better output-vs-runtime curves, and the drive circuitry for the multi-emitter build is more flexible... we have far more latitude at present in how to build the light, matching performance with the customer's goals. That's not to say the P7 is junk, we're definitely better off having that part available... just that it's not going to take over the world, either.

Hmm, to an everyman like myself, I see the P7 as something of a LuxV replacement. Multi-die, ability to run at high input levels with amazing output. Not the most efficient LED, but for the correct application it could be a killer single emitter setup. Seems to be screaming for a high-input board running off of an a123 setup. :) Hmmm. With multi levels (perhaps a specially tuned Acorn driver)? Hmmm.

Hay, Scott. Can you quantify "reasonable timeframe"? Couple days? One week? I think that will help us who are waiting for your reply. The wait and suspense is killing us.

But, I am certain that it will be worth it. Thank you, Scott.

Floodlight, I would say about a week, but there's not really an absolute rule here... every day is a bit much, and waiting a month between contacts is unnecessarily long. The fact is I try to take care of everybody and have the best intentions, but if a number of issues come along at once an email or PM reply, or phone call, or whatever can sometimes fall off the radar on my end... unintentionally, but it does happen. Your reminder is actually very helpful to me... I guess just wait the amount of time you would probably want someone else to wait if the roles were reversed, and be civil about the reminder. I can be slow and sometimes even forgetful, but I will never just blow off somebody who's been trying to contact me.

And yes, I do hope you work ends up worth the wait, as that is always my goal.

BTW, if I haven't said so to everybody lately, I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to do work for all of you. Thank you so much, it means a whole lot to me.

I will try to post the sprint run this evening, probably within the next couple hours.
