What is the longest you have carried the same EDC light?

I carried a aa mini mag for over 20 years. I even converted it with a LED at one point. Then I found this place and went kind of nuts.

I knew you'd show up, that guy with the 20+ year old Minimag. ;)

To be fair I have a plastic 2D that I've had about 30 years, but I can't call it my EDC. It usually sits next to me at the computer.

*edit* Just checked the batteries and they are COMPLETELY dead. :eek:oo:

I've been belt carrying a Nichia RA Clicky since Illumn released them, that's gotta be 8 or 10 years. Still looks pretty new, I dropped it a couple of weeks ago and got the biggest ding so far.

I've had a MJP I forget what it's called, maybe Extreme III AAA on my keys for 10+ years. The knurling for the twisty part has the anodizing worn pretty much completely off.

*edit* I searched my email. I ordered the Clicky in October 2013, so it's only 6 years. MJP Extreme III was May 2009, so 10+ is right.

Hmm, broken into categories

Production:
Cooyoo Quantum 4 years
Maratac Rev 2 Copper 2 years

Custom:
Spy 005: 1 year
McRegulus 18 months
Haiku: 6 months

On the custom side, making my own lights I rotate through my own models as I design them and explore their uses and refine them. As for other customs I've carried about every basic type of light and a decent selection of some functionally same/similar ones too.

My Fenix PD22 old style 8 / 46 / 95 / 200 lumen. A gift from my Mom that I carried for years. Surefire primaries last forever.

I've carried the same McGizmo Ti PD-S since 2006/7(I forget). The longest I lost it was for about 12 days when it was returned to me after I'd been asking around after it on a facility with thousands of people on it. Its been MIA in different cars, jackets, couches, you name it. Travelled to 3 foreign countries and countless adventures. Only upgrade to it was utilizing fenix rechargeable 123's. Its still exactly the brightness level I need.

Also have faithfully carried a McGizmo sapphire since they came out.

I was gifted a CooYoo Quantum by a friend across the pond, when they first came out in 2015. It's been my EDC ever since, so that's 4 or five years.
I don't need a light for work, so I don't carry something larger too.

Here is my progression of EDC lights. From left to right:
The Blue streamlight nano. Carried for about a year it demonstrates how much abuse they take in the pocket.
The middle one is a DQG AAA twisty in Stainless. Carried for about a year.
The one on the right and carried for about 5 years is the CooYoo. Obviously stainless holds up. It still looks like new (well... almost! )

My Arc-AAA-P had a 14 year run on my key ring. It still works great, but I would hate to lose it, so I replaced it with a Peak Eiger.

Yep !

I carried my Mini-Maglite AA from 11/14/1984
until early 2008, when I went on-line searching
for "flashlights" ! :p

Found QuickBeam's wonderful site,
(thank you Doug, for all your efforts)

Also found a place called CPF,
loaded with people who are
* REALLY * crazy fanatics !
:D

They have taught me that $ 100
is NOT a lot of money for a flashlight !

The exact same mini mag for 24yrs? Man that is pretty cool. Wonder how many 100s if not 1000s of batteries that thing has seen?

The original E1b (80 lumen) around 2008 to 2011, then the 110 lumen upgrade from about 2011 to 2014. If I was out of the house had it with me. Still use the original 2008 body with other stuff. Never replaced the original clip. Liked it so much I bought 3 just in case.

I've had the same Fenix LD01 on my keychain for at least 10 years. Anodizing has worn off on all raised/wear surfaces, the serial number is long gone, and it might finally be about time to change the O-ring ... but it still works without complaint.

I have had the same Fenix LD01 light on my key ring for 10+ years too. I Switched to the Lithium-ion 10440 battery (prob against better judgement) 4 years ago. it has worked flawlessly since and brighter too.

Olight S1 Baton since January 2016, still going. Lost it twice for around a week at a time, once I found it swimming in a few juices at the bottom of the recycling bin, and more recently in the tent (luckily we went camping two weekends in a row).

Lucky for me, there's a backup sitting in my drawer for exactly those times.

Been carrying a 4Sevens Preon 2 for 3+ years. Just lost it last night. Time to look for a replacement. May just order the same one. I figured, its the best time to look around fur other options, in case my Preon 2 shows up somewhere.

I've been carrying a Muyshondt Aeon Mk. III for a little over 2 years now, first got it in October 2017. I don't carry it every day but I carry it a minimum of 4 days a week, every week. Still on the first battery too, which is less a testament to runtimes and more an expose of how little I actually need to use a flashlight in my daily life.

Carried around a leupold light (similar to a E series Surefire) for around 5 years consistently, but about 10 years of and on. I used to rotate once i found this place, but I've settled down to carrying a Zebralight consistently for about three years although, i've updated the light within that time.
