    Good AA Light?

Two lights I'd recommend: ZebraLight - very small and light, excelent regulation and efficiency. It's a headlamp; if you want hand-held, try the Fenix L1D-CE. See my review at http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=178839

    Favorite Walking Light?

After 15 days in the South American jungle, I have absolutely found my favorite "walk around" light: the ZebraLight Q5. Small form factor, light weight, wonderfuly-useful levels, and very efficient. Full review at: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=178839 John

    MAG85 where to buy?

I too can recommend this one. I ahve been using it for over 9 months in all sorts of off-road, caving and mine exploration situations. Very bright, reliable and well made. I think it is worth the price if you dont want to build one yourself. John

    PT Apex mod?

What connectors did you use? I found some assemble-them-yourself connectors at Radio S**t. I was not very impressed with them. thanks, John

    Do I need an incan?

Oh, ****, I just have to say, "It depends." I mostly use LEDs for their regulation (flat performance to the end of their battery life), but there are two situations in which I find incandescents TRULY INDESPENSIBLE: 1) Massive light required: exploring/scoping out way-off-road situations in...

    LED Vs. Incan

I srongly agree with marduke. A very inexpensive light that uses all forms of AA batts, incl. lithium and rechargeable NiMh is the Streamlight PolyPro 4AA Luxeon, approx $35 US. Very powerful and reliable; it runs for almost 4 hrs continuously on one set of batts. I've used it in many...

    Sold/Expired V2 Mag C Incan Driver - Soft Start & Multi-Brightness ( available )

Re: Mag C Incan Driver - Soft Start & Multi-Brightness AW When you have a chance, what might the capacity be of the MagD version you are working on? I have a mag85 using a WA1185 and 9 rechargeable NiMh AAs in a holder. We use this light A LOT in night-time off road and cave/mine exploration...

    So where is the Zebralight?

<There will be a limited quantity Q5 version in addition to the P4 version. Sorry to be so ignorant, but could someone please explain what a Q5 is in comparison to a P4 (I do know what the latter is.) Thanks.

    So where is the Zebralight?

George In post #197 above, it is reported that there will now be a three week delay. Can you please give us an authoritative update on when delivery is now scheduled to begin? I think this would be especially helpful because you have generated so much interest (over 200 posts and nearly 8500...

    Your most powerful.

Borealis/Mag85 by Juan C; about 1050 lumens off 9AA rechargeable batteries. This much light is VERY useful in caves, old mines, and doing way-off-road scouting in the dark (e.g., river crossings).
