The Official CPF Hot Sauce Thread!

My new favorites are some truffle-flavored hot sauces... "Truff" hot sauce and Seed Ranch's "Truffle Hound." A hint of earthy truffle flavor seems to go well with hot sauce.

    Comprehensive Grease and Lube Thread

It is for me for contact cleaning/maintenance and trying to rejuvenate battery compartment springs and contacts that have been damaged by leaking alkaline batteries in older electronic devices. I keep an aerosol can of Deoxit Silver and tubes of Deoxit Silver and Deoxit Gold in my tool box.

    Comprehensive Grease and Lube Thread

I also sometimes use an airgun oil on O-rings. Mac1 "Secret Sauce" is a hydraulic lube that is supposed to be safe for various types of O-rings.

18350 through the wash and soaked

I fill a small jar with rice, crack the lid, and heat it in the toaster oven for a half-hour or so at low heat. Then I put in whatever I'm trying to dry out and seal it up. It seems to work very well. The funny thing is, I always save the silica desiccant packs that come in various...

18350 through the wash and soaked

Can it be safely saved? I just washed my hunting jacket, which has a ripped pocket lining, and my Thrunite T1 slipped through and was not found when checking the pockets before washing. It came out full of water (which surprised me as I've washed other lights accidentally and they didn't)...

    The Official Zebralight Thread .

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but why did Zebralight stop supporting the use of 14500s in the AA lights? Once I discovered AA lights that could use a 14500 (I love my Tool AAs and EagTac D25A MkII), I started thinking about picking up another Zebralight headlamp in AA size. Then I...

    The Official Zebralight Thread .

The person who pays their hard-earned money to buy that returned roll is the one who has to deal with your actions, not the multi-billion-dollar corporation that you have decided it's OK to steal from. If you try hard enough, you can justify stealing anything from anyone... And no; I'm no...

    Wooden handle knives

Boiled linseed oil followed by beeswax. If you don't have any beeswax, I think it's worth having some around. It's cheap. I use for all kinds of things, including making lip balm for the winter season. It's one of the bees' "miracle products." For some reason, the stuff they make (honey...

Vinegar patina on my Breese Forge custom

Very cool pattern! I've used mustard with some luck. I also got an interesting patina on a blade by losing the knife in a lake for over a year and then finding it while SCUBA diving... not recommended. ;)

Beacon or SOS, which one do you prefer on a flashlight?

I don't mind having both as long as they are a layer or two deep in the menu. Beacon is likely to be far more useful but, if you happened to need it, SOS might be a lifesaver. I have never used either.

    9V lights

I have a Paklight I keep in a coat pocket. I wish there was a more practical/sturdy/weatherproof version... it's a shame throwing away those smoke detector batteries every year.

What LED flashlight is sitting on your nightstand?

Nice, but what do you have for back-up?

Is there something wrong with my Predator Pro?

ArmyTek finally acknowledged receiving my Wizard Pro and confirming it was faulty. But they said they didn't have a replacement in stock in China, so they offered me a Wizard Pro Nichia but without the compensation item for my postage expenses due to the Nichia version being more expensive than...

And I'm yet another still rocking an H600w MkII for several years. No reason to update it!
