Fireflies ROT66 dimmer than it used to be

WEll I have got a proper nitecore charger, but I do appreciate after a couple of years there is bound to be a fall off in the internal chemistry.

Fireflies ROT66 dimmer than it used to be

I'll try that at the weekend thanks. Maybe I do need new ones, off to the battery section....

Fireflies ROT66 dimmer than it used to be

I forgot to say, they were doing 4v when freshly charged, but I just have a normal multimeter and don't really know how to check much more than that. It's a while since I last read the forum much.

Fireflies ROT66 dimmer than it used to be

I bought a first gen Fireflies ROT66 with the Nichia 219b leds over 2 years ago, thanks to all the useful reviews of it. It perfomed fine, even my mother in law liked the light from it and she isn't into torches, just appreciated the light quality and brightness. However recently it has...

    Petzl Headlamp Question

I remember lending my old clunky Petzl with behind the head battery pack (Which was almost all that was available at the time) to a friend who had never used them before and he came back enthusing about how amazing it was to be able to see what he was doing!

    Festival medic head torch recommendations

I've become a bit of a tint snob over the years, and got a Thrunite TH20 a year ago. It's not perfect and I don't think it sold as high CRI, but the neutral white is pretty good. It is quite floody though, but you can boost it up to turbo with a couple of clicks. It runs on one AA battery...

    The Tint Snob Thread

I just logged in to say that my girlfriend's mother, who is quite aged, really liked my Fireflies rot66 with the Nichia LED's. She doesn't know it, but she is a tint snob...

A short comparison (including beamshots) of the Niwalker MM25MB and the MM25MB V2

How do you find the flood? I could do with a floody high output torch for lighting up bits of campsite for set up and take down, amongst other uses, and if the torch is too good at distance that isn't much use.* *So far the portable floodlights I've found are quite big and not always as...

The dreaded "family member asks flashlight advice" thread

I'm going to work this year on some friends, who had a couple of cheap camping lanterns that lasted a couple of years then stopped working. The aim is to get them to spend 3 or 4 times as much to buy proper ones that will last a decade. Could be tricky.

    Review: Manker MK34: 12 x Nichia 219B, 6500 lumens, 3 x INR18650;(beam)shots, compare

The photos look good, but what sort of battery life are we looking at? One reason I've been thinking of getting a 4 cell flood torch is because it'll have longer battery life. Also how floody is it? I'm looking for something that can light up part of a campsite, i.e. not have a bright centre...

Why do i need a flashlight?

Old thread. But I had a read of the OP, and that reminded me of something. I was away in May doing medieval re-enactment, and we had 3 newbies with us. None of them knew how to start a fire or put up a canvas tent (Not having been in guides or scouts or done anything like this before) but...

Wow, why in the world do you carry a flashlight with you?

Re: Another "Why do you carry a flashlight?" Moment That depends if they read the Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy.

Looking for a durable headtorch uk

I'd agree that avoiding Petzl is a good idea due to tint and they are also less water resistant than many others. I got a Fenix HL30 recently and it is fine so far. I did consider a nightcore but ended up going with the Fenix because it was cheaper, used AA's and did all it really needed to...

    Flashlight Technology 1984-1988

Multi-C and D cell maglites reached Scotland in the 1980's. I recall my dad using his police one (5 c cells) at scout camp circa 1989, and it was really impressive compared to the normal 2D cell poor torches made by Duracell or Ever Ready that were all that was really available. The maglite...

    Black out!

It sounds like you were well prepared. A suggestion for getting the generator wire into the house, depending on how the house is built- you could drill a hole through the window frame the right size for the wire, and semi-permanently leave a wire through it, or else block it when not needed...
