    yes, the low voltage (1 cell) drop in is noticeably brighter, the 2 cell drop in, is as bright on 2 cells but dimmer when run on 1 cell, bit silly really as they are offered in 1 cell bodys... ....other people have noticed this too I recommend you take a look at the ultrafire drop in, SKU...
