Cheap Source of Battery Packs for Petzl CORE Headlamps

Do you have a picture of one? What are the dimensions? What is the rated capacity? At any rate, the Klarus packs are probably still cheaper, unless you have some use for the Coast and Bushnell lights. Like so many electronics, they are probably all being made at the same factory and just...

Cheap Source of Battery Packs for Petzl CORE Headlamps

I really like the idea of the Petzl CORE headlamps, but the CORE battery packs run $25-30 each. The whole idea of a rechargeable headlamp is to not spend more on batteries than on the actual headlamp. I recently purchased a Klarus HR1 Pro (which I ended up hating), and noticed that its Klarus...

    For Sale - Flashlight Zebralights

I got my headlamps last week via trackable DHL from Germany to the CONUS (20€). They were LNIB, just as promised. Thanks for the great transaction, Max!

    What's your most trusted light?

I'll second this opinion. I have a couple 5mm Peaks (a 3-LED AAA and a 1-LED CR123), and they always turn on. Either one can turn on with an almost-dead battery, but my CR123 was modded with a high-CRI emitter for low output (3~4 lumens). It is an absolute battery vampire.

Vote Now - Best Fenix of the Decade

I have a Fenix FD30 that I picked up a few years ago at a pawn shop. It has been in my EDC satchel ever since. It's very handy. On a slightly embarrassing note, I just figured out that it is focusable! :candle:

    4Sevens announces closure

Actually, for some time, 4sevens and Zebralight were the only major flashlight producers giving warm-tint LEDs a shot. I don't remember who did it first, but both were early adapters. David Chow was an industry leader in high-CRI lights. David helped bring the first batch of Nitecore Smart PD...

    4Sevens announces closure

Foursevens (or 4sevens as some of us still remember the company) will be sorely missed. David Chow played a huge part in creating the the modern LED flashlight market that we know today. The company brought many innovations to the table, or at least to the mainstream - constant-current...

    SUNWAYMAN G20C- 1000 Lumens Stylish Dual-button Super-compact Flashlight

I just got one of these from Battery Junction's sale. I only have two levels to choose from (other than strobe, which I hate). When the light is on, clicking the metal button cycles between medium and high. I do not have a low at all. I am thinking that the "turbo" that Sunwayman mentions is...

    Foursevens Mini Mark II

That's the problem we are all talking about. Not a huge deal for titanium clickies, but for a twist light, titanium threads tend to bind from galling. I had to return my first generation titanium 4Sevens AA Mini because it galled terribly. What failure mechanism have you observed in your...

    Foursevens Mini Mark II

I have no experience with PVD on threads, but I would guess that it is similar to anodization on threads, which generally helps a lot. Alright, you two - it's time to turn in your CPF membership cards. :poke:

    Foursevens Mini Mark II

I've personally never been a big fan of copper lights because of the smell and the weight, but they do dissipate heat better than aluminum. The Autumn PVD coating looks really nice and at least negates the smell issue. To my knowledge, copper threads hold up pretty well - not as well as brass...

    Foursevens Mini Mark II

I'm really tempted by the new titanium Mini with a neutral tint LED: http://www.foursevens.com/products/ML-IIC-FF It checks a lot of boxes for me, but I'm a little concerned about titanium-on-titanium threads. I've never had a good experience with titanium twisties.
