Does anybody now about Spark headlamps, are they still in business?

I'm not sure if they are still in business, but I just bought one of their headlamps and a handheld Spark light from GoingGear about a month ago. I have several of their lights, are excellent, would be a shame if they are out of business.

Tell Us What Do You Use Your HeadLamp For?

I bike a lot at night. I have flashing lights on my bike, white front, red rear so I can be seen, but I also like to have a good headlamp on my helmet to see where I'm going so I use a JETBeam HR25 or Zebralight H602w. Both use rechargeable 18650 batteries, which are nice for the convenience and...

    Mag-Tac LED new from Mag-Lite...

Interested to know if the lens is glass or plastic, and if the reflector is aluminum or plastic. If they are plastic, might be a deal breaker for me, as there are plenty of lights out there at that price point with better quality materials. Also how easy is it to disassemble, get to the...

    Toughest edc

Truth! The old classics get overlooked sometimes, have Many ancient 2D Rayovacs as well as Maglights laying around, esp in shop and garage, they soldier on forever it seems. edit- was responding to Shelm"s post- "rayovac indestructible"

    Toughest edc

I will concur with the HDS/RA lights. Somewhere I have an RA twisty that has had a substantial amount of abuse dished out to it. Looks like it has spent a week in a rock tumbler, still works. Has even survived use by my kids. They are the destroyers of everything. Seriously, could give them a...

Beat the TK35 for under $150?

I paid less than $150 for my Klarus XT20, it puts out a lot more light than my TK35, but they seem to throw about the same distance. Also my Jetbeam BC-40 might beat it, I think it puts out a bit more light than my TK35, but does not throw quite as far, I paid under $90 for it.

    You gotta see these Surefires

Re: Fishy Surefires? They are fairly durable, most are military-grade type II, 20-25 microns thick. Type III HA would be much more durable, but from what I have been told is quite a bit more expensive and cannot be done in the range and quality of colors as type II. Seems the better grades of...

What is it that makes collecting flashlights so addicting?

I would have to concur with that. I don't have to justify any of my purchases to my gf, but she does keep track of everything, has it all broken down into categories. She has on occasion questioned my gear addiction, not just for lights, but guns, knives, lasers, watches, pens, audio equipment...

    Spotting Deer.

I had a lengthy conversation with my DNR friends again about this just this past weekend. I live on 147 acres of mostly wooded land. If on my own property, outside of my vehicle, guns unloaded, cased and/or locked inside my vehicle, except my carry handgun, they would not cite me. If in my...

Can you identify an old LED flashlight for me? (No picture sorry, just description)

Is this it? We have the same light but all black, and a similar light that takes 2xCR123As, kids use them when camping. Common light available at Wal-Mart, Menards. Ours have proven to be quite durable and the kids have not destroyed them- yet.

Army life lessons: Carry a flashlight

The two I use the most are these- Barska Blueline 10x40 http://www.opticsplanet.net/barska-10x40-blueline-close-focus-monocular-aa10320.html Orion 10x42 http://www.telescope.com/Orion-10x42-Waterproof-Monocular/p/8431.uts I use mine mostly for astronomy, so the larger aperture is important...

Army life lessons: Carry a flashlight

I would modify/add to that, big fixed blade knife, utility knife, multi-tool, handgun and spare mags, GPS, mechanical compass, spare batteries, and cell phone to my personal list.

    Spotting Deer.

That is only true if you are inside the vehicle. There are a few exceptions, one being if you have a valid permit, you can carry a handgun. You can spotlight as long as guns are unloaded and cased, the vehicle is parked, and you are outside of it. Coyotes are pretty active here at times, so we...

What is your most expensive or heart breaking flashlight/torch accident?

I had an old 2D MagLite that was my dad's favorite light. I upgraded it with a Malkoff XP-G module, aluminum lop reflector, and glass lens. We were a good ways out on Lake Michigan two years ago with a few friends and thier kids, watching the fireworks on Taste/July 4th weekend. I usually...
