    Christmas Gifts XI! (enter here)

Is it too late to donate a light? I have a Streamlight Protac 1L (version before the Ten-Tap programmables came out), I think it's 110 lumen on high, 6 on low. I upgraded to the 10-tap version, so I can part with the older one, not used much, fresh SF-123a in it. Was going to give it to a cop...

    Rayovac Indestructable?

I just got a 3AAA handheld as a tip just over a week back............ I'm impressed, never thought i'd go back to the 3aaa setup. A tad heavy in hand, but feels very solid. Mine is silkscreened with a company name/logo of Franklin Empire....website www.feinc.com Was likely a batch of xmas...

No love for the Surefire T1A Titan?

That's sad to hear. I have the 90 lumen model, love it. The lowest mode is great for night trips to bathroom. As for the floody complaints, that's what I love, very smooth beam quality. Maybe any discounting might create a wave of Titan lovers? Smaller and more elegant than Streamlight's...

Surefire E2D Ultra vs. Surefire Fury

Don't forget all of the versions of the Fury........ The spikes on the E2DL-U might be a turn off, though I'm sure it'll throw nicely, if that's what you need E2DL-U is probably longer than the Fury, but much thinner. You can also tailstand the E2DL-U I've always loved the combat grip so a...

    Surefire UB3T or UBR Invictus

If you're gonna use it a lot, go UBR. For me, the only thing wrong with the UBR is the lack of the combat grip. No idea why the 2 have different styles (knurling VS combat grip) If you go primaries but don't need all of the modes, maybe save a few bucks and get an M3LT instead?

What Cree LED is in the New 320lm Surefire 6pX defender??

That's interesting, I have both a Streamlight Protac HL & the G2X-dual mode in tan. The Protac HL is a XML I believe and has a bluer tint than the G2X. It takes some getting used to for me, but I'm starting to like the tint of the G2X better. Never thought that they would use a Nichia.

Streamlight ProTac flashlights get new TEN-TAP progamming feature?

Nice to hear, I hate the middle mode being strobe. The HL is a beauty for this! Guess I'll hold off on getting the 2-AA & 2-123a setups. They are pretty good lights for the money & warranty IMO.

    Do aesthetics matter?

If we're talking visual appeal only, then nahhh not really. In the dark, no one can see your shame. Ergenomics are important and often lead to nice asthetics, but I do love combat grips. Sadly I only have the C2 and UB3T for them.

Streamlight ProTac 2AAA Flashlight - REVIEW

Good review! 1) Yup, my switch is stiff as well, but sturdy 2) Having strobe in 2nd mode after high, makes getting to low a pain as you have no night vision left by the time you get there. strobe should have been last, but I do understand the high mode being first. Sidenote: If you want a low...

    Surefire UBR Invictus

I'm wondering if the 4FTC will work with the UB3T? I still prefer the combat grip on the UB3T. Nice to see some stuff actually trickling out of the vapour.

Yellow-LED flashlight that lasts hundreds of hours?

While the Paklite with a lithium 9V is nice, maybe also consider a Photon Freedom Micro with yellow LED as a backup. You can dim it very dim and will run a long time considering the battery size. Keep it on you at all times, until you can locate another light

    Kroma Milspec updated?

Looks like it's been bumped up to 130 lumens......... http://www.surefire.com/illumination/flashlights/k2ms-kroma-milspec.html I always liked the yellow green, too bad I don't have a use for IR. I'm guessing the non-Milspec will be remain just blue & red secondaries.

    Maglite Mag-Tac - Not impressed...

Scratches and nicks in the window have never made a difference to me. I prefer not to have them, but the beam quality in use doesn't really suffer much. I just had a cree'd Minimag Led, take one drop too many and died, was scratched to hell, but performed ok enough for me.

Cold Winter - Do you swap Eneloops for lithium primaries for your EDC?

I dunno about you guys. Here's what I do: Mags/Icons in the spring/summer Surefires/Streamlights in the colder parts of the year Maybe keep some L91/L92's for the AA/AAA lights in their off season, just in case.
