    "Pre-Release" Lights Discussion

Re: Prime / Prime Pro. Every Day Carry Lights. It isn't speculation. Armytek does distribute pre-release units to retailers that 1) Armytek doesn't sell on their own site and 2) don't meet the features/specifications for the final designs that Armytek does sell on their site. Read the first...

    "Pre-Release" Lights Discussion

Re: Prime / Prime Pro. Every Day Carry Lights. I don't think there is any black helicopter stuff going on. I do think it is irresponsible of Armytek to deliver pre-release units to retailers who must prefer to get production units. I don't know of any other name brand manufacturer that puts...

    "Pre-Release" Lights Discussion

Re: Prime / Prime Pro. Every Day Carry Lights. Armytek sells poorly documented pre-release models to retailers and then Armytek disavows any responsibility for the existence of those units when they fail to meet published specifications for performance and/or features. Then Armytek undermines...

    C8

I'm extremely happy with the Convoy C8 hosts. The subject of on-time memory has been mentioned in this thread. Mountain Electronics has started offering the guppydrv firmware as an option for the Convoy C8. The guppydrv firmware has fast off-time memory which works very well. It also offers a...

Predator / Predator Pro. Tactical lights.

The difference between 450m and 540m should be noticeable but perhaps not dramatically so. However, to my knowledge no one has independently verified Armytek's figures for throw. Recently I posted some beamshots of a Predator LE XP-L HI and a Dobemann Pro XP-L HI. I also posted shots of a...

    Barracuda. Search lights.

I don't have them in front of me to compare against a wall, but my recollection (I pretty confident about this) is the the Predator LE has a tighter hotspot than the Dobermann Pro LE. Both have a bright corona (that many complain about). The Predator LE may have the brighter corona that could...

    "Pre-Release" Lights Discussion

Re: Prime / Prime Pro. Every Day Carry Lights. This is an appalling position for a manufacturer to take, and smiley faces don't help. "So if you ordered your Prime from a dealer who often renews his range - you have nothing to be afraid of" The above statement is equivalent to saying "If...

    MecArmy PT16: 3 x XP-G2, 1000 lumens, 16340-cell, micro-usb; (beam)shots, comparison

It might be 1000 lumens -- maybe. It is much floodier than the EC11 which makes it look less intense/bright. Take a look at the GIF comparing the EC11 to the PT16 beside the tree. The PT16 illuminates that tree trunk better than the EC11. I have some triple XP-G2 lights with similar optics and...

    Dobermann. Tactical lights

I started wondering (a lot!) about tints and became frustrated trying to interpret the words that others used to describe what they saw with their eyes. And it's quite expensive to buy something based on some one else's notions about tint. (To be sure, I'm not criticizing anyone else --...

Partner / Partner Pro. Tactical lights.

Re: Partnter/Partner Pro. Tactical flashlights That is a really big plus, IMO. I have a few Fenix flashlights that I like a lot, and naturally the two button UI is/was second nature. However, after using a tail switch for mode changing for a while (on Armyteks and some budget lights) I'm...

    Dobermann. Tactical lights

When my Dobermann Pro LE XP-L HI can't maintain max output, due to the state of the battery's charge, it drops down to slightly less than the 440 lumen mode. I feel certain that is the normal behavior. As discussed before, this happened with my "conventional" batteries with anything less than a...

    Dobermann. Tactical lights

My Dobermann Pro LE HI had difficulty maintaining max output for any length of time when I was using my customary Eagletac batteries (which have always worked well in my other flashlights). I just recently bought some of the Sanyo/Panasonic 3500mah 10amp GA batteries mentioned above and the...

    Dobermann. Tactical lights

It is likely that the Dobermann Pro is operating at a higher current than the Dobermann. Of course you are absolutely right that the runtimes will be different in that case. However it is pretty obvious by now that Armytek's specifications for new/updated models are usually copies of...

    Armytek Prime C2vn ;-)

It's really great, isn't it? I have a small collection of the early generation Partners (with some new drivers and emitters). I like the TIR in that generation of Partner -- but I love the TIR in the Prime. I wish I could find something very close to that for my old Partners.

Prime / Prime Pro. Every Day Carry Lights.

My goodness. Either you have superhero like grip strength -- or more likely -- Armytek failed to properly tighten the bezel (along with making a cold solder joint). Either way, it's good to get a look inside the head. Fixing it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks and good luck.
