    Olight PL-2 Valkyrie-Not so happy!

One nice thing too about the Olight is that it was so close in size and shape to the TRL-1 that it was compatible with TRL-1 holsters. It did in fact fit in my Safariland holster for my G19/TRL-1. The Surefire is nice indeed, but quite a bit more. For a "couch commando" as myself (someone who...

    Olight PL-2 Valkyrie-Not so happy!

Well, this was for a G20 that had a primary purpose for out of doors use. I figured the additional brightness would help in the dark woods. I already ended up returning it and bought another TRL-1 HL. I have two of these, plus an old TRL-1, and they are rock solid. I shoot in a league with...

    Olight PL-2 Valkyrie-Not so happy!

So after reading reviews and seeing a couple youtube videos, I jumped on a PL-2 from Amazon. I will say that I love the UI and it's MUCH brighter than my StreamLight TRL-1 HL, when it stays at the maximum brightness. The issue I'm having is that it almost immediately drops down in brightness...

Winter stove options. My preferred is White Gas.

Could not agree with the OP more. I live in the northern Chicago suburbs and do a lot of winter camping. Isobutane stoves are great, except in winter. Isobutane fuel is made up of butane and propane. The butane stops becoming a gas (volatilizing) at 31F and propane stops at 11F. So between...

How do you like the Nitecore D2 & D4 battery chargers?

I have both the I2 and the D4 and I'm very happy with both. I primarily use the D4 unless I'm recharging a number of AAs. I've had no problems whatsoever. I think the D series is a safe bet.

    Olight M3XS-UT Javelot (3 or 4x CR123a/ 2x 18650, XP-L Dedomed, 1200 lumens) Review

Good point. I forgot about the fresh of the charger voltage. I will say compared to my Nitecore MT10C the color is greenish. Less obvious outside on its own though. Crazy throw, no doubt about that.

    Olight M3XS-UT Javelot (3 or 4x CR123a/ 2x 18650, XP-L Dedomed, 1200 lumens) Review

Hi everyone. Thanks for the review and for all the great comments. I just got my M3XS-UT bundle delivered today. I'm still charging the 18650s so haven't turned it on yet. Can't wait for it to get dark!!! My question is did we ever come to a consensus on using just three (3) RCR123a? At...

Wow, why in the world do you carry a flashlight with you?

Re: Another "Why do you carry a flashlight?" Moment Years ago I was hanging with some buddies smoking cigars in a garage. Something tripped the breaker and the lights went out. Without hesitating, I pulled a light out and lite up the room. The guys still talk about that. I'm just...

    ArmyTek Barracuda (XM-L2 U3, 2x18650/4xCR123A) Thrower Review: BEAMSHOTS, RUNTIMES+

Hey all. Selfbuilt, awesome review as always! I'd love to be a fly on the wall as you review one of these! Anyway, I was in the forest of the Upper Peninsula (Michigan) at night off roading, and sure enough, it became a flashlight contest! I was awe struck by a buddies Olight M2X and knew...

Do you carry a spare cell? If so how?

As I was leaving for a trip, I realized that I didn't have a way to carry my extra 18650. So in a pinch, I threw it in a pill bottle. Price was right!

New Nitecore Tiny Monster: The TM06

Wazzzuuupppppp!!!!!!!!!!!! (<---funny because he's using an outdated catch phrase) Bring it on, I'm laughing my butt off here! Suffice to say, I love the TM series. I wish I had more disposable income to grab one. As it stands, my SRT7 stays in my truck most of the time. Honestly, the...

New Nitecore Tiny Monster: The TM06

I had trouble getting to Nitecore's website yesterday. Today, I was in and poking around and looks like there's a new Tiny Monster. http://nitecore.com/productDetail.aspx?id=146#.VR27IkbUumQ 3800 Lumens and smaller than the TM26.
