I want a new AA light that can take alkaline and Lithium Ion. EDC

I recently received a Spark from Shining Beam and it's a great AA light. It is a fine combination of spread and throw and will take the batteries you want. I chose the optional single cr123 body, and the optional single AA, so I can mix and match at will. I found the service from Shining Beam...

    Lithium drill batteries

I have a 12v Fein cordless drill with defunct batteries. It was the extremely cold winter two years ago which killled them and despite my intermittent charging attempts they won't hold a charge for more than a couple of minutes of work. Pity, as it is a grand drill. I'm sure that the duff...

aa alkaline or aa primary lithium

Hi, I have economy in mind here. I know the lithiums are dearer but do they last proportionately longer? Incidentally, I was reading the Varta battery website recently and I remember them saying that their industrial AA's are better built against leakage. Varta are highly rated and their...

    a few very basic questions:

Thanks for the information, fellas. From what you've told me the Fenix E21 is just the light I'm after. Simple to use and a good medium runtime. I'm most grateful.

    a few very basic questions:

Hi, How many lumens are required for adequate normal use? We like to walk down our country lane at night and I'm going to buy a floody beam light, something like a Thrunite Neutron, so we don't miss the occasional rabbit or badger or, most probably, cat. With economy in mind, I don't want to...

2 x AA flashlight that also takes lithium AA's (not rechargeable)

Hi again, Well, you've given me something to think about. I didn't anticipate getting a batt re-charging system going but I can now see the advantage. I don't want to lose any low modes at all. Thanks fellas.

2 x AA flashlight that also takes lithium AA's (not rechargeable)

Thank you guys. Now I've got it. I can see that it is the L91 battery that I need. They'll be in torches which will only get occasional use but will have to be ready to shine when needed. Thank you Outdoorsman5 for your suggestions. You've put your finger right where it needed to be. I'll...

2 x AA flashlight that also takes lithium AA's (not rechargeable)

Hi, Is there any easy way of determining the above? The manufacturers websites often don't make it clear. I keep having to look up numbers like 14500 to find that this is a rechargeable battery. I'd have thought that if a light takes a rechargeable AA batt it should take a standard AA lithium...

What is a comfortable level of lumens for reading?

Well, between you all you have clarified my thinking extraordinarily well. I'm grateful for the trouble you have taken. Hope you had the best Christmas ever.

Looks like Zebralight it is. Nice of you to confirm.

What is a comfortable level of lumens for reading?

Yes, obviously I have to agree with you. Trouble is, you need to try the headlamps out before you know if they would be suitable. There's nowhere at all near me where I could do this and this is why I posted. But it's good to know that the Zebralight would probably suit. Thanks for your reply.

What is a comfortable level of lumens for reading?

Using a headlight of course. I'm asking because I have an old Petzl headlanp which has a fine low level. The model number isn't on the light but it has a 4.5w flat alkaline battery mounted on the back of the headband. You just turn the bulb casing from off to fully on to vary the output. I...

    A light for the wife

chrisWeld, The Polish shipping is a great bit of info. I certainly use that after the festive season when I can determine how much cash I have left. A happy and prosperous New Year to all.

    A light for the wife

When I ordered my Olight it was on special offer in the USA, about £27 if I remember rightly. The cheapest I could get it for here was £42. I calculated that if I had to pay import duty at 17.5% I would still be better off shipping it in. However, I didn't know about the £8 charge levied by...

    A light for the wife

Hi, Okay, I've made my mind up. I'm going to get a couple of quark 123's. I've gone cross eyed reading reviews and looking at beam shots but it's been worth it. I'll order after Christmas, hopefully to take advantage of the January sales. You've all been a great help. Enjoy yourselves at...
