Lights you bought more than 1

I have bought about a dozen of the Sofirn C01s AAA lights. I use NiMH cells in them. Some were gifts. Others are spread around the apartment so there is always one handy, and of course one on my keychain. I bought a couple of the C01 lights as well before the C01s was introduced.

which battery do you prefere for pocket flashlights?

I use NiMH AAAs in my C01Ss, and 14500s in my Tool AA 2.0. Anything larger is too big to be in my pocket, IMO. Coat pocket maybe, but I can reach and see someone far enough away with my Tool, so I don't need anything else.

    What's this LEP all about

So far this all has been vary enlightening. One of the first thoughts I had after seeing the beam comparison was how well would an LEP do as a SAR light, specifically a rough-country SAR where beam distance would be more important? It would obviously not be the only light needed. A longer throw...

What is the most reliable AAA keychain light?

I haven't read all the intervening posts, but my recommendation would be the Sofirn C01s lights. Single AAA, low and medium output, very nice o-ring supplied with the light. I have one I have carried every day for a couple of years and it looks a little beat up but still works fine.

Getting to the bathroom at parties!

The best answer would be the Sofirn C01R, that is the red led, not the infrared version. Single AAA, twist on and off, I believe multiple output levels, very sturdy o-ring supplied with the light. I have had several of the regular C01S lights for several years and they are just fine. They don't...

    Batteries with usb charging ports?

I'm not going to get into the whole USB charging on an individual cell except to say my personal feelings agree with ledbetter. My two cents worth is that I agree you should use your solar panel to charge a power bank, then use the power bank to feed whatever charging method you decide on. I...

【Discussion】What's your favorite flashlight and why?

If by favorite you mean the one I carry the most, it would be the Sofirn C01s. The low is perfect for keeping from stubbing my toe or running into things, while the high is great for finding dropped objects and looking behind or under things. Second favorite would be its spiritual big brother...

    General LED Question

While this question is not about an LED flashlight, I figure this is probably the best place to ask this question. I have a nice table lamp with an LED bulb in it [GE Lighting 22711 LED 16-watt . I have noticed that when I first turn it on, the bulb seems to be a little bit brighter than normal...

Is a USB handwarmer safe (regarding fast battery discharging)?

All of the rechargeable hand warmers I have seen would have bene lithium poly battery packs due to the configuration. I have never heard of anyone having problems with a lithium poly device due to the different formulation. (These are the same kind of batteries that re used in cell phones.)

    Simple twisty for co-worker.

If you can find one, the Sofirn C01s (NOT the C01) uses a single AAA cell and has two light levels, selected by twisty. Usually sells for around $10.

Please suggest a light for the following application...

Lumintop Tool 2.0 AA. Single AA/14500 cell, low, med, high, higher for modes. Has tail switch but can also be switched by twisting head slightly. Works fine with AA but will be significantly brighter with 14500 rechargeable cell. AA can be alkaline, NiMH, or Lithium primary. I would NOT...

How to test AA batterys to see if they have a problem ?

The MINI-MBT by ZTS is the best cell tester I have found. It uses a real pulsed load to test the cell capacity and ability to deliver real power. It uses 5 LEDs to signal cell state. It's not cheap, $60 on Amazon, but to me is worth it.

    Different COB light

Similar, but the one I am looking for is a true flat strip. I will keep this in mind if I can't find the one I am looking for. Thanks

    Strange behavior

I have several Sofirn C01 and C01S lights that I use EBL AAA cells in. I recently tested one of the cells with my ZTS tester and it refused to show any results. I placed it in my Nitecore D2 and go the following results: Immediate voltage read was 0.94v. Jumped to 1.3 within the first minute. Is...

    Different COB light

I recently saw a light that is a COB strip with a separate power supply. Great for wearing on the chest to light one's path instead of a headlight. Unfortunately I can't remember where I saw it, and now that I have some extra funds would like to investigate further. TIA
