Has Your "Taste" In Lights Changed With Time

I started out similar to most in wanting the brightest (cool) "white" lights while sticking to AA/AAA lights. Luckily I bought a neutral white light as my second light (Zebralight SC5w with a creamy tint). It took some getting used to the "warmness"..but then going to the cool white of my...

I was actually surprised how long they had their clearance sale for! It was briefly in stock a few weeks ago and I was lucky enough to have checked during that time...

    The Tint Snob Thread

I'm not a "snob" yet...? But I love at higher levels my Zebralight H600Fd and Lumintop IYP365. The H600Fd has a touch of warmth without being too warm, but not too "white" and analytical. The IYP365 at the highest setting just is so pleasant to me. Its the "warmest" light I still have that...

    Is Armytek a gamble?

Lol..its probably pretty telling when you ask or research a manufacturer and when asked for feedback, you get such wide experiences. There do seem to be some brands where if you ask for recommendations, you won't get too many "warnings" about the manufacturer. There do seem to be a few...

    Zebralight SC5 MKII

Unless I missed it..I'm curious why they decide to upgrade the SC5 vs the SC52 series? Aside from the high CRI, do you guys think the throw and spill will be equivalent to the SC5(w) if at the same lumen level? I'm not really sure about the LED difference between these. Otherwise, sounds like...

    The Official Zebralight Thread .

I see why people love the SC62w. After being disappointed with the yellow tint on the SC600w MKIII that I received, I ended up debating which 18650 light to get again. But finally one day, it happened the SC62w came back in stock on Zebralight's website so I promptly ordered. I have the light...

Re: SC62w is Outstanding for Anyone with Carry Weight Limitations What are the odds! Me too. Decided to pull the trigger on the SC62w and love it. Its on the larger side of pocket EDC to me, but its pretty much almost perfect.

    Best coin pocket LED flashlight

I also love my Olight S1 and it also fits into my coin pocket. But I do alternate between the coin pocket vs clipping in the pocket. In the coin pocket hides the light better at the expense of needing to "fish" the light out. But I prefer to clip to pocket cause its quicker for me to take out.

Summary:what was your 3 best flashlights purchases for year 2016?

2016 is the first full year for this hobby. But feels like the lights I'll mention is not in the same class as a lot of lights mentioned here! 1. Zebralight H600Fd - My favorite this year. Love the headlamp + clip as its so versatile and easy for my to take out and clip back on. Nice floody...

Perceptions of what is too big for EDC

Not counting the Nitecore Tube, I like pocket EDC my Olight S1 in general. If I feel like it, the S1 is okay in gym shorts as well. But when wearing work pants or my weekend pants, I've taken to pocket EDC my Zebralight H600Fd. I did just received a new Zebralight SC62w and I can see this...

Problem with mode spacing and mode memory

Lol..I don't like mode memory. I have the same problem too and always forget which level I'm on. Heck, as much as I love Zebralights...sometimes in the middle of the night, the lowest moonlight mode looks so bright that I'll double click and accidentally switch to the "highest" low level. ;)

Wow! I notice you don't have any of the SC62(w)/63(w). Just curious of your reasoning?

    Zebralight H600F c/d mk3 85cri and XM-L 2?

Mine when used by itself is just slightly yellowish white...but just a bit yellow. It's very pleasant. I have a Zebralight SC5w that looks more "creamy white". But depending on the ambient light, it's usually pretty pleasing.

    The E01 48 Hour Challenge

I used the "Magic Eraser" (cause I don't have steel wool) and found it reduced the "angry purple eye" quiet a bit. For longer distance there's still some purple. But for about an arms length or closer, the purple is gone. Much more pleasant now!

I mentioned in another thread, I forgot the Jaxman E3 exists. There's a cool white and warm/neutral version when you order directly from Jaxman on AliExpress.
