    Cheers to Nitroz

Since I’m none too steady with the soldering iron, I asked Russel (Nitroz) to help me swap the stock emitters on my Surefire L1 and LX2 for a pair of neutral-white (4000k) XML-2s. After a brief PM discussion, I sent him the lights, and he was finished within 48 hours of receiving them. I had the...

    Looking for Surefre Emitter Swap

Thanks guys! EDIT: Just saw that Tana is in Europe. Any suggestions for North America?

    Looking for Surefre Emitter Swap

I'd like to pay someone to swap the emitters on my Surefire L1 and LX2. I've taken apart the heads as much as possible (I think) and I have the new emitters. I can provide wire, and thermal paste if needed. I'm not good with soldering so I don't trust myself not to ruin the job :duh2: Please be...

Is your H502W tint very cool?

I find it reassuring that I'm not alone in my observations of the tint. My H52Fw has a wonderful neutral tint, and I was expecting something similar to that. Rather than send the light back, I may attempt to swap the LED on my own. This way I can be certain I'm getting the tint I want.

Is your H502W tint very cool?

Indeed, Re: the Zebralight tint lottery. I sent back my first H52w because it was unpleasantly green. I'm beginning to think I should have gotten the H502c.

Is your H502W tint very cool?

I apologize if this has been covered, but a search didn't turn anything up. Just received an H502W L2 for Christmas, and while I love the beam pattern, the tint is very cool, with a purplish tinge. I thought maybe ZL sent me the cool white model by mistake, but I compared it to a friend's H502W...

    The Missing 2AA Headlamps

Re: But I Want Overkill! My first headlamp was a Princeton Tec Matrix (link) circa 1998/1999. At the time, I considered it "the best" headlamp, because it was waterproof and had a much longer runtime than my friends' incan headlamps. Probably put out 20lm, at the most, and had very little...

    Headlamp is Bestlamp

I know! I wish ZL would use a threaded bezel so I could swap lenses and emitters. It's one of the few complaints I have about their lights. I'm interested in hearing more about this perspective. I find the opposite is true, that I'm frustrated when I have to hold the light in one...

    Headlamp is Bestlamp

I've come to realize the headlamp is the most useful illumination device I own. It's not the smallest, or the brightest, or the furthest throwing, but it's what I use 95% of the time when I need a light. If I had to give up all my lights but one, there would be no hesitation as to what I'm...

Gifted a 3D m@g, what should I do with it?

Close to San Jose, yeah! I have the whole light, not just the body. I will have to check out IS, I didn't realize they were in the area. I think the custom heatsink and driver route is the way to go. Nothing on DX gives me what I want, and I want to run some warm-white emitters to give it that...

Gifted a 3D m@g, what should I do with it?

It's a "D" prefix serial incan 3D body. I checked out some drop-ins on DX but they've all got blinkie modes, no thermal pathway, and unimpressive runtime. I'd like to build something that puts out at least 200lm and has at least a 3-hour runtime. Is there an easy way to turn this into a floody 2...

Noob Questions about Surefire E and L Series (UI, LED swap, batteries)

Thanks novice. I'm not opposed to running an incan, but I think I'll stick with an LED setup if possible. I have a couple multi-mode d26 drop-ins, but I find it too easy to accidentally change modes using the momentary option. I guess that's just how those modules work though. Anybody know...

Noob Questions about Surefire E and L Series (UI, LED swap, batteries)

I like the "tactical" UI of the 2-mode E2D, but wish I could use an 18650. It seems I can get it bored like the 1" Surefires, but I want to explore my options. I have a couple P60 lights but don't know anything about the E, L, A, etc. lights. Are there any other lights, production or custom, in...

Ah, my mistake. I saw "B" in the specs and stopped reading there!
