So far I'm really liking it. It works nicely with the 1499 bulb & E2 Turbohead combo with not too much fuss. I haven't tried it with a normal E-series incan head yet, but I'm sure that would be great too. At some point I will have to try it with a softstart switch and maybe a 1794 too.

My initial impressions on the body:
-great fit and finish
-smooth threads
-positive button action with the McClicky

The anodizing is the only detractor. It's a nice colour but is a bit inconsistent; I don't notice it until I look for it though.

All in all, it's a great deal for the price considering the quality and how it includes a McClicky and doesn't need an additional bi-pin adaptor to make it work.

#04 Gray E series 2x16340 body

Hi Fivemega..Thanks again for these awesome products. My goal with this is to take out the bi-pin portion of it and attempt to make it work with an E1e incandescent bezel fitted with SST-90 and powered by IMR 18650. A zero Tolerance C series tailcap will finish it off. I will post my results later on this.

So why no IMR 18500? Even with a softstart tailcap, does it flash the sort of bulbs that will fit?

A 1499 will work with ANY size pair of LiIon; protected or unprotected LiCo, or IMR.

A 1794 with 2x IMR18500 will work fine with a softstart; without one, :poof: ! I bet a 1794 would work fine with 2x IMR18350 without one though. I don't have any more 1794s to verify; I tried my last one with 2x IMR18500 and a Mc Clicky, and well, you know, :poof: !

From OP:
Excellent choice when used with 2 IMR 16340 cells, 2 IMR 18350 or 2 protected 18500 only. Do not use 2 IMR 18500
Run time and possiblities:
1499 with 2 IMR 18350 about 20 minutes.
1794 with 2 IMR 18350 about 14 minutes.
1499 with 2 protected 18500 about 42 minutes.
1794 with 2 protected 18500 about 28 minutes.
