Forgive my incan ignorance but whats the difference between the TL-3 bulb and the 1499?

What is estimated lumens and runtime with these bulbs?

TL-3 bulb is 1.2 Amp, 200 lumens and will run in this set up about 100 minutes per charge.
1499 bulb is 1.84 Amp, 385 lumens and will run in this set up about an hour per charge.

Thanks for quick reply.

Is the beam more flood or spot with this setup?

What about artifacts?

I'm looking for something smaller than Mag 2C with ROP Low bulb with similar output.

Is the H1499 or Axial bulb brighter?
What is the lumens of the Axial bulb (are these bulb or torch lumens?)?
Is 385 lumens for the H1499 at the bulb or out the front? My stock TL-3 seems pretty close to 200 lumens out the front (maybe 180ish).

Thanks.

Varooj,

These look really nice. How many lumens with your different configurations? How do they compare with a stock Ultra Stinger? I am interested so pls LMK.

Thx.

TL-3 bulb is more focused with smaller hot spot and less artifact. 1499 is brighter but with oval beam shape.
Axial bulb is brightest with large circular beam shape and wall of light.
All these are smaller and light weight than M*g 2C

Axial bulb is brightest set up by ceiling bounce test but lumen output is unknown.
All ratings are bulb lumens.
I think stock TL-3 with lithium ion batteries has about 200 bulb lumens.

UltraStinger is a very large flashlight with 2" head and good throw compare to these smaller and light weight flashlights.
However, beam color on all of these set ups are whiter than stock Ultra.

Varooj, if I take #5 Axial would that light come with the axial bulb in it for the $81? I ask because you state "I also have 3x18500 version of these for even brighter and much nicer/circular beam shape because ot it's included axial 22 watt bulb." Pls clear this up and also will the 1499 run on the axial. What is the run time for the axial with 3x18500 with the axial and the 1499 pls.

paulsl,

This is FiveMega's version of the SL TL-3. There are two versions. One uses either the TL-3 blub or the 1499. The other uses a 22watt axial filament (axial = filament runs vertically, not like the standard horizontal lamp) lamp.

The first uses 2 18650 rechargeable lith-ion batteries. The other uses 3 18500 rechargeable lith-ion batteries.

The bulb is included with the light. The TL-3/1499 uses 2 batteries, the 22 watt axial bulb uses three batteries.

Hope this helps.

OK I'm very close to pulling the trigger on one of the 2x18650. I have one last question. How does the ROP Low bulb in 2C mag with 2x18650 compare to one of these with 2x18650 and the 1499 bulb besides the size difference?

Does someone have both of these to compare?

Got my 2 x 18650 light today. Man this thing is nice. I transplanted my Carley frosted 1499 bulb into and loaded it with 2 fresh AW 18650 cells. Nice and bright. Wall of light.

If anyone is watching this thread and you're on the fence you should go ahead and pull the trigger.

Another job well done by FiveMega.

Thx. But does the Axial bulb come included in the $81 price. His quote would indicate that but I want to be sure. Also what is the run time with the axial.
Thx,

Did you miss this?

Yes, Axial bulb is included in $81 price.
Run time in this set up is about 45 minutes.

Sorry. You already answered about the bulb. I'm just wondering about the run time with the axial.

Thx.
