502B brightest version

I bought a: UltraFire WF-502B CREE XM-L L2 LED 1600 Lumens 5-Mode. I compared it to one I bought about three years ago and the old one is much brighter. Guess I figured the newer led would be brighter...nope. What is the brightest white led in this budget light?

1600 lumens is way way over exaggerated for a single emitters dropin.
You may wanna google a little on those.
Btw, where did u buy the flashlight & what batteries are u using?

Batteries are 3100 mah 3.7V Panasonic protected, made in Japan. These are the best batteries I am aware of. Got on ebay.

There are 3400mAh cells available in the market now.
And u may wanna do a tailcap current check to see how much ur dropin is drawing.
I doubt these dropins are driven hard enough.
