Thank you for your detailed and valuable review. I am looking to grab a modded specimen rated at 25,000 lumens.

How the hell does one dam near double the lumen output like that? I'm sure a driver can get an extra 100 lumens or so out of each LED at BEST but 25,000??? Do they swap LED's completely or what???

Hey guys I know this may be a tad off topic but olight got their x9(I think?) coming out at 25,000 lumens stock, acebeam has their 16,000 imalents got their 16,550 or whatever but what the hell is nitecore doing?? They're literally the lowest folks in the game. Their highest output is just 6000 lumens which was crazy at the time but every single company has a light much brighter. Thrunite, fénix, you name it. Think they're working on something crazier or decided to focus elsewhere?

Ok fair enough, I tested it tonight next to my BLF A6 3D nw, and it is almost 500k warmer I'd say and a noticeable green tint but not bad at all, no where near like putting up with blue/green of the CW. I'd say they didn't pick the higher cri nw as that requires more phosphor coating reducing output. That explains why both cw and nw models are putting out very similar otf figures.

I may look at doing an emitter swap to xhp70.2 when they are available to get actual 16,000 lumens ansi.

I plan on reflowing NW LEDs to my X7vn. Just regular xhp70. Might just leave the X45 stock.

Different driver, swapped out leds for XHP70.2. Email Vinh and ask him. Mine should be in the mail to me in a few days or sooner.

-------------
Yes, there will be tint. Yes, I can run it at a lower mode for less heat and more run time.

Wait that doesn't make sense. The XHP70 has a max out put of 4022 lumens and the XHP70.2 puts out 4292 lumens. I can't see how a driver alone can squeeze out an additional 8000 lumens out of those poor LED's lol. What sorcery is this?!!

No sorcery, of course. Instead, the driver is sprinkled with unicorn alcohol dehydrogenase.

Did you email Vinh and ask him?

It is simply overdriving the LEDs beyond their specification, therefore manufacturers cannot do this as then they are not warranted for it.

X45 comparison with a Olight x7 and skyray King. The x45 still feels compact in the hand, well balanced and perhaps nicer to hold without the aggressive knurling.

Beamshots is of X7 on high and x45 on high. Batteries are charging for maximum output Beamshots tomorrow night.

as long as you use it outdoors it's fine. This light is meant to be outdoor use anyways.

We use our lights every night around our property and horse farm. My opinion is wether you're in a warehouse or on the moon..bad tint is bad tint.

Looks great!
The tint is a touch warmer than the X7, perhaps by around 100K. Definitely no complaints. The x45 at 4000k lumens throws almost as hard as the olight X7 on turbo s putting out 9000 lumens.

He had a driver specially made, and battery carrier mods as well.

Beamshot this morning, X7 with freshly charged GA cells, 9000 lumens, and the X45 in turbo 9000 lumens with some lowly 18650b cells. Just testing what the x45 is capable with lesser cells. The X45 in turbo throws twice as hard as the x7 in turbo S, plus the x7 won't go to turbo S mode on 18650b cells, so the X45 is much more practical imo.

Here is the beamshot that tells the tale. Maybe the shutter speed is set a little high to really see the difference. Will take beamshots tonight.

Olight X7 on Turbo S with freshly charged ga cells on the left and acebeam x45 with freshly charged cells on the right. The spill is ever so slightly less intense on the x45 but the throw is in a different category.

I did not contact him regarding the X45 but about my Nitecore related issue. I was hoping he can mod my TM26 so it can catch up with lo you guys but he said he doesn't do those as they are hard to work with and the OLED screen breaks to easily. Fair enough.

Yeah for the first minute the X45 would spank the DT70/X45 but after 60 seconds with unbelievable heat and voItage drop I suspect the X45vn is a glorified TN36ut.

basically
X45vn 4.20v = 25,000 lumen
X45 4.20v = 15,000 lumen
X45vn 3.70v = 5,000 lumen
X45 3.70v = 15,000 lumen

Are Vinh's lights a false economy?

15000 lumens of flat regulation down to 3.7V? That information is not accurate. If it were, there might be some truth to that.

I tested my x45 last night holding it out the window driving down the highway with cold air blowing over it on turbo max. It cooled it so effectively it was hardly warm to the touch after the test. It never stepped down in just under 6 minutes of use at 15,000 lumens and at the end of the test the red light came on. I tried it for a minute on turbo and the red light didn't come on, only on turbo max after about 15 seconds.

I would say it was still putting out well and truly over 12000 lumens at the end of the 6 minute run on turbo max. I put the batteries on charge and they were at 3.8 volts. The batteries were approximately 50% discharged and that lines up with my calculations that the stock cells would be completely flat after about 13 minutes with 15,000 lumens.
