Hi;

I need some help from the experts. I have a small desk clock (Seiko) that takes LR44 cells. I need to replace the battery and am trying to determine if I can substitute a Silver Oxide 357 or SR44 for the Alkaline LR44 cell. I get free 357's at wotk (where the clock is) and can also find them at the local grocery but LR44's are not carried there. The 357 package says replaces a LR44 however I asked Sioko and after a long wauit they said only the LR44 and tried to sell me one for $12.00 (Yeah- right)
I know my calculator will function fine with either LR44's or 357's and the Silver Oxide cells last longer. Is there any reason they the same would not be true of a clock?

Thanks

Usually the SR44 is a better replacement than the LR44. It has a higher capacity and therefore lasts longer. I have no clue why anyone would say "LR44 only".

Here's the difference : Nominal voltage : 1.50 (alkaline); 1.55 (silver-oxide)
source:Wiki

I'll send you a PM with a link where you can buy them for dirt cheap.

Thanks for the link.

Are you saying that 0.05 V will make a difference or damage my clock?
