Use Energizer Ultimate Lithiums, those can push 3A continuouse and at 2,25A mine dropped only to 1,2 V

Close, but they're actually rated @ EDIT: 2A 2.5A continuous and 4A pulse (2 on / 8 off). Of course one can probably push things beyond their design point, albeit generally at some penalty. They're still the best performance there is (in that format) though, so I'm certainly not knocking them, and I do use and recommend them, and there's really no viable substitute at colder temps..

I recall that, but didn't understand it. Maybe those Zebra critters don't like the higher voltage(?). One of the Zebraphiles who haunt the Z-light thread might have an explanation. I recall them often discussing voltage for whatever reason.

I also don't recall ever seeing anybody ride one, but maybe they do;-)

If we count eneloop aa pro's as regular aa "alkalines", it should even be possible to do ~700lm.
The datasheet shows 4A continouus discharge at ~1.1 V.

With 3 PAM2803 drivers https://www.diodes.com/assets/Datasheets/PAM2803.pdf for the boost (~65% efficiancy at those voltages and currents) we can do 3x 350mA for 3 LH351D LEDs.
With the top bin making 251 lm (https://download.led.samsung.com/led/file/resource/2022/05/Data_Sheet_LH351D_Rev.10.0a.pdf) at those currents it may be possible....

I have a single AA Farpoint flashlight that I got from American Science and Surplus for about 8 dollars that can do, it says, 300 lumens. One of those focus flashlights. OK for the price but I also have a Streamlight 1L-1AA that is much nicer.

I haven't read thru the whole thread and it may have already been mentioned. But for someone wanting to play around with different single cells the Streamlight 1L-1AA is pretty versatile. It can run on one CR123A, 14500, AA, or even AAA. No spacers or fiddling required, just load the battery and go.

What about LedLenser P3? That with a Fujitsu NIMH is a sweet combo and it fits nicely in a Blackhawk plastic streamlight pouch.
