Any hope for a single 26500? I'm having a hard time finding AW 26650's here in the states.
Check here.

How does the FM D36 socket work? Just like the D26 socket you offered?
Can I use other bulbs with the FM D36 socket?
Work exactly like G4 Sunlight with small allen wrench to hold bulb pin and large allen wrench to secure socket in reflector. Can be used with many other G4 bulbs as well.

How many lumen can I expect from a SST-90 inside a 26650 host ?

I don't know exact answer but I do have same set up (1x26650+DD D36 SST-90 single mode which pulls about 3.6~4.2 Amps when fully recharged.

FM, I just noticed you have an option to purchase a 26650 battery as well. That is a new option, correct? I did not see it when I ordered mine.

Are these the battery station batteries that you are selling?

FM - currently run a 1909 bulb in a KT4 head w/3xIMR18650. With the D36 3x26500 setup with the 1909 bulb would you say that it would be more spot of more flood than my current setup? The current setup is pretty floody but darn bright and does carry a good distance.

Yes, this is new option of these cells.

IMR 26500 cells will hold the voltage better than IMR 18650 with longer run time, so brightness will be no less than 18650 and obviously, larger head will throw further but since KT4 has HOP textured reflector compare to VLOP of D36, therefore throw is almost same but 3x26500 D36 is better pocketable.
3x26500 D36 was whiter and brighter than KT4 Megallenium on ceiling test.

im confused. The link for the second optional 3 batteries is for the same D size cell, for a 3x 26500 body? Are the three batterries C or D sized?

"Black 1x26650 with one battery $103 (AVAILABLE)
Black 3x26500 $99 (AVAILABLE)
Black 3x26500 with 3 batteries $141 (AVAILABLE)"

Sorry, single battery option is for 26650 which is hard to get especialy for international customers while 3x26500 cells are available here for everybody.

Just got my 3x26500 last night w/ the FM1909 setup. WOW!

Did a few test runs for throw and the results are:
Megalennium w/ FM3X > Megalenniun w/ KT4 > 3x26500 D36

It is a floody light which makes it great for around the house and just outdoors. But it's got enough light in a huge hot spot that it can push that light out to 100 yards. Can't wait to take it for a walk in the woods this upcoming weekend - that's going to be like a daytime walk I think.

Varooj - question for you. Is there anything special to do when focusing a lamp in that head? There's no real point of reference to measure with like the MN bi-pin bulb holder. Thanks.

Is there a significant dropoff in throw from the KT4 to the D36?

I bought three more IMR C cells, and I'm not sure what to do with them. Right now, I'm running a 2x26500 body with an IMR-M3T lamp in a KT2. A 700 lumen lamp driven by two 26500's. I'm wondering how much this D36 light will beat that in throw. A 3x26500 with the KT2 head obviously will, but that's too big to easily pocket, which is why I'm interested in this D36 light.

I already have an AE 25W Xenide for when I need OMGZ MAXIMUM THROW, but I'm looking for something easily pocketable that can come close.

For the same LA yes the D36 has less throw than the KT4. That being said if you are looking from going from a KT2 IMR-M3T (nice setup - just a touch dimmer than the WA1111) to the D36 I think throw would be approx the same given that the size of the spot is HUGE on the D36 1909 (2000+ lumens versus 700).

The light is a bit long to be considerd pocketable - but much more pocketable than a wide KT2 head. The D36 head has a nice slim profile.
