I have decided what I want to see in an Alpha. I know everyone makes triples these days, but a triple inside of an Alpha would be something else!
I have been carrying my XM18-B for almost a year now. At any given time, my collection is usually 12-15 high end lights. 99% of the time, it is the Alpha that I carry with me.
Triples have always been appealing to me and I have owned many. I usually end up selling them off because I dont use them. Then, I find myself picking another one up because I like the type of beam and brightness they produce. I just cant seem to find a suitable host for one.
I think an Alpha triple would be relatively easy to produce. The only difference would have to be the length of the head. It would need to be shortened to fit the optic which is not as deep as the boom reflector. The body and tail can remain the same. Also, the LMH 2.8A driver with memory would be plenty bright. Plus, it is what I have been using in the XM18-B for almost a year now.
So, Jason, the Alpha triple is something that I have been dreaming of and would LOVE to have. I would even consider paying a premium for a one-off light.
Let me know if this is something you have ever thought about OR also if youre interested in a one-off.
Keep up the good work, it seems like you have come a long way in the past year!
