Thanks for the hint, Vortus, although it doesn't seem to have overdischarge protection; also tail twisting is arguably not the best UI for on/off operation which is the most frequently performed one.

Just depends on use. The push button is momentary, twist for full on/off. When riding, you'll turn it on when starting, and most do not turn them off till done or for a battery change. With the direct drive you can tell when its getting low cus your light is getting dim.
