Hey everyone,

Recently I've been trying to figure out just how much percieved light comes out of certain flashlights, and what I found is that the most useful for me was to use OTF ( out the front A.K.A. actual ) lumens and candela combined to try and figure out how the beam will look like at night.
For example a HoundDog will not look that signifcantly brighter inside than a M61N, eventhough it has twice the lumens, or even the M61N will light up the room better, but if you take them outside the difference will be much more significant.

So I begin listing some of the lights I know the output of, and figured I'd invite you to add to the list:

Code:
Name Candela Lumens
Surefire L1 (g3) 480 cd 27
SureFire Titan 550 cd 150
Malkoff M61N 1,354 cd 400
Surefire A2L 2,000 cd 135
EDCL1-T 7,600 cd 500
EDCL2-T 11,300 cd 1200
Elzetta Bravo AVS 12,036 cd 900
Malkoff M61HOT 20,000 cd 740
Malkoff E2HT 35,000 cd 500
Malkoff E2XT(L) 55,000 cd 500
Malkoff E2XTD 70,000 cd 650
SureFire EDC1-T 71,000 cd 550
Malkoff HD18650XT 75,000 cd 800
Malkoff HDS warm 75,000 cd 1500
Malkoff HDS cool 75,000 cd 1600

I used OTF, stabilized ( not on turn-on ) lumens wherever possible.

I've added the titan and A2L

What does an L1 (g3) mean? Aren't the L1 and the G3 two completely different lights..?

thank you, I knew about this, the germans did a mighty fine job with these, however not many Elzetta/Malkoff/SureFire there either, that's why I figured it might help out others to have a small list for this line of flashlights
