From the outside, inwards ...

Bezel --> lens --> O-ring --> triple-LE --> host "shell"

The O-ring sits on a thin shelf, compressed between the lens and the shell. You may be able to see the rim where it goes on the small inset photo ?

I like that the ends are Ti (for strength) and the middle is Al (for heat handling) .

Tough to appreciate in pictures just how much light comes out of this torch in person.

I think I forgot to lock the white balance, too, which is why the sky turned from blue to purple (lol)

Well you can certainly see the difference, and considering the HDS is a reflector and has a hot spot, it certainly packs a punch!

I love walls of light type beams, so useful without any bounce back!

I did some quick searches. It appears the heads for these light engines were made a long time ago and no longer made anymore?

Are they the same as the Surefire E-series heads?
