Re: GE HD light "Reveal"

I tested the GE LED Reveal (the cylindrical shape ones). The back of the package says 3850K. The plastic where the light comes out of seems to be slightly pink tinted. When turned on, the light is kind of rosy colored, but the tint doesn't seem bad. The CRI seems like it might be around 89.
I suspect it might just be using a 3000K emitter that then gets filtered by the colored plastic diffuser. The light that comes out might actually be closer to 2900K, that's what it feels like. No flicker and the lamps are very lightweight.

I don't know if there's actually some form of neodymium embedded in the plastic. Could be possible I suppose, it's not that expensive to incorporate a silica nanoparticle diffusion into plastic. (Neodymium glass appears kind of purple-pink colored, or blue depending on the type of light source)

Re: GE HD light "Reveal"

Check the color of the plastic under fluorescent lighting. Neodymium glass looks blue under fluorescent, and lavendar/magenta under most other light sources.
