I'm looking for a headlamp to cycle with in the night. I have the ST460NW but that thing adds the peripheral view distractions--not to mention, the over-extended reflector housing moves the light down as I continue to ride.

My aim: A lightweight headlamp utilizing 1x18650 cell with a triple headband design. I want to push about 500-700 lumen if possible utilizing the XM-L2. I don't mind the color tint as I will more than likely change the pcb to copper and a 7D4 emitter.

MUST have at least two-stage UI.

Budget for this light would be up to $150USD.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Check out armytek and spark. They make some of the best headlamps around.

Armytek looks very convincing. I'm really digging the 7D4 tint the Wizard has.

Mcnair, I'm not going to do cycling shops because they're over-priced and over-rated lumen readings. I brought my modified D25LC2 and it took their breath away considering the size and OTF lumen. I'd much rather look for a custom bike mount to wrap my EDC on it if worst comes to worse. The goal is to look for a headlamp that won't obscure my peripheral sight as I ride in the nights. The current ST6 from Sparks is very distracting, IMO.
