I used a infrared Thermometer on the heat sink fins of the ff4 and on the control ring on the xvn and tn31vn as thats the spot that gets the hottest.
i figure maybe someone will fine this useful. The reflector at turn off on the ff4 was (485 degrees F) lol

also at 10 minutes i compared the extremely hot tn31vn to the cold xvn and there was no loss in output at all still beat the xvn in throw like it would if it were cold

(edit)
Added stock c21c. at 3 min and 7 min the 3 min it stepped down then i put it right back to high as you can see where the heat increase slows. it kept going to 146 degrees at 13 minutes then i stopped as i like this light but dam this thing must be built well

added a defiant triple xpg2 $30 at home depot. shows the heatsinkings not very good all the heat is being trapped inside the light. or maybe its just not drivin very hard output is very good about 1000 lumens not bad for $30

added btu shockervn it preformed very well. puts out a massive amount of light and because of all the mass the light has it takes longer then the other lights to get hot

No one knows yet. I haven't seen or heard reports of LED degradation.

Here's the thing, the lifetime on modern power LED's is really really long.

It's extremely difficult to have enough use on a light to get to the degradation point. If you only had one light in your collection and used it all night, every night, like for patrol..... Maybe maybe you would notice it dimming over time.
It's more likley you break some other part of the light first, lose it, or moving on to a super newfangled whoopie doo light first. This is CPF lol
Early power LED's did degrade due to more primitive phosphor and less understanding of proper heat management overall. Currently, we have almost nothing to worry about.
Use it happily

it's what i have heard of.. maybe for the old ones..
seems i have nothing to worry about, since i tend my lights too much. in order not to break, or lose it...:D
