Whether it's green or yellow or something…it has its own tint profile for sure. It might be fine in person but the pics do prove it's not a twin to the 219b 4500k.

I haven't looked at the data sheet enough to see whether it was designed to be a higher output 219b, or it was designed to be totally different.

See, my beloved 5000K 351 isn't so bad after all.

Do we know for a fact that 519a is in fact r9080? Do we even know the bin? Are we really going to judge an LED on one single beamshot of one single sample?

If so, I've got a 4500K 219b that looks like ****. If we all judged the 219b from 1 single unidentified bin emitter, we'd all be missing out out the fabled sw45k r9080

Absolutely we are. I'm already waiting on 519b.
I placed a sample order of every cct. I'll put them in an OP reflector host at 1.5-2 amps and see how they look.

Oh I was just joking in that 519b is already in planning because 519a is a doomed failure based on our tint study involving a single beamshot from a single emitter.
I am ready for the 519B !
back to the 219B 4500k then ? or would the 5700 519A be like the 4500k 519A ( bad )
thanks

Don't come on here as often as I used. If there is a group buy I'm in. Will there be a formal post in the appropriate section when the time comes?

519a R9080.. So how do they look Kernels?

There's a lot of prospects. Are you going to run this GB or just whistle Dixie?

The favorite seems to be a dedomed 4500k 519a. It's similar to a 3500K but with a different and very nice tint. Malkoff might dedome them if asked...the dome just pulls right off, compared to the SST-20 dome that has to be cut away.

Performance wise the 519a is pretty much a Samsung LH351d with a different tint shade.
To me the 351 is the most under appreciated every day carry LED.

The benefit to the 519a over the 219b is the 519a is brighter at every amp...the less amps you use to achieve desired output the longer your battery lasts and the less heat produced to fry the LED.

519a 2700K would be neat.

The Cree XPP LED is super cool....nice tint choices and huge throwy output.

I have some 1800K LEDs on order.
