Typically packs like that would use OEM cells with no buttons because it would be a waste of space and make assembly more difficult. If you are going to be welding together a pack you're best off getting plain OEM cells. You might need to pick up some fish/barley paper spacers for isolation.

It's funny that this thread is back, I was recently comparing my Acebeam T27 to my friend's SR90 and it outperforms in both lumens and candela while being much smaller and with one cell.
Thanks for reactingelectromage.
a lot is changed nowadays with the new generation LEDs but still, I really like the simple and rugged design of this flashlight.
I wouls like to see a dismantled battery however before just ordering cells.
I will use all the available materials of the old pack and hope not to get short of anything when restoring the full capacity of the pack.
since cells only cost € 6 per piece and the cheapest complete battery is $199 plus tax plus shipping, I might even rebuild the packs for others if I succeed well.

Just decided to crack open the pack of my SR-70 and try to swap the cells.
Ripped the pcb wire to shreds but hey, nothing beats a good repair with thin copper plate foil
The hardest part is to get open the two very very sticky screws that hold the connections in place and keep the batteries inside the tube.
These are flat top ones.
Then desoldering wires and making lots of pictures to know how to put back the stuff.

Now I have to order new Panasonic cells and rebuild the pack.
I'll keep you posted!
