On December 24, many people are finishing up their shopping, getting ready to cook Christmas dinner, etc. A few are working to finish up jobs that have to go out ...

The lettering was completed in AutoCad on Monday (Dec. 22) & the file emailed to my friend with the plasma table. He used CorelDraw7 to convert the .dwg file to the the .dxf format needed by the CNC table. Then the machine rolled over & died. He phoned me at noon yesterday, we had the table running at 6:00 last night but the drawing needed to be resized ... finished it up at 9:15 last night. Got to church just in time for the 10:00 Christmas Eve service.

Turn up the volume & it's almost like being there while it cut ...

It's a Christmas gift for the owners of a local sawmill. The blade is forever old but that's what they wanted.

A friend at school did the Autocad drawing in about an hour. The plaz table can't use .dwg but need .dxf format so we (slowly) downloaded Corel Draw X7 & converted the file. Then the plaz table refused to cut & it took us six hours to get it going. On top of that I spec'd 56" diameter when in fact we had only 52" inside the blade gullets - took us a little while to work that out.

I made all of $10/hour but it was educational. Next time will be easier & priced correctly

no kidding. CAD is quick. If you need to switch for DWG to DXF, check out Draftsight. It's free and with youtube you can learn it in a day or 2 (for doing full drawings). Doing the conversion would be quick.
