Possible to use food safe oring lubricant? I'd like to know the stuff is safe if you get it on your hands.

Serial number or no serial number, I don't care . . . so long as I get in on the first run! Would be lovely to see a list of the first 100 people in this thread (and via email) that confirmed they'd buy a light. They could/should get first dibs :)

Ok, this is a lube question.

Why not krytox or Nyogel?

Truthfully, it's something I've just started investigating. And I have just a slight opinion. Krytox eg2000 looks good.

Disclaimer:
You would have to be extremely anal/obsessive to make a decision on a flashlight purchase based on the lube used.

You know who you are.

At this time, I do feel the need to make a demand.

PICTURES!!!!!!

Computer renderings, drawings on a napkin.

Looks do matter. I don't care how good her personality is.

I've used Vaseline and nyogel for years and never had issues. I've heard people say don't use petroleum jelly but it's never hurt anything.

I mean, how are we supposed to see the light

If we can't see the light?

PS: I checked with the Dalai Lama. He said that was some profound sh*t. And if dibs applies, I get first call. Just ask him.

Vinh, out of curiosity, how much would it add to the price if the light was factory coated with cerakote?

Cerakote & DLC might be an "aftermarket" option that I will provide. I like HA III because its tough. I might have a choice for natural anodization too.

For aluminum think you are considering 7075 find a qualified source for MIL-A-8625 Type III (just means colored). I am military aerospace and there HA is not all the same. Cerakote is not something you want to fool with PVD yes but expensive.....

I am a huge fan of DLC, but I have not seen it done on aluminum.

DLC over polished Ti is really nice.

Unique tail cap intended for under water and glove twisty operation. I assume most will edc the clicky version.

Will we be able to switch between twisty and clicky? Easy parts swap, or 2 separate lights?
I prefer clicky, but when it's -20f a twisty is operable without taking off gloves. And unfortunately winter is coming.

Why not buying both tails (if it's going to be an option)? Problem solved...
