I recently received a Thorfire VG-10S and thought I would provide you with first flashlight review.

The VG-10S is Thorfire's 1100 LM Tactical Flashlight and is an upgraded version of the popular VG-10. It comes in a nothing fancy brown box that contains the flashlight, pocket clip, 2 spare o-rings and owners manual.

Some specs:

CREE XP-L2 LED

The flashlight runs off one 18650 battery.
5 modes including Moonlight (1LM), Low (50LM), Med (300LM), High (1100LM) and Hidden Strobe (double tap). Strobe is also variable speed.
Will run on high mode for 5 minutes before stepping down to medium mode.
Beam distance 280m. Could not verify, but it is quite a bright light and throws a nice beam.

This flashlight is well machined with a quality build. It's a very bright light, certainly the brightest of all the flashlights pictured above It's advertised as a thrower, but I did not have an opportunity to verify the 280m beam distance. I can report that in my testing it was lighting up a residential street and neighborhood with no problem. Backyard beam shots can be seen below. I personally like the mode spacing. The moonlight mode is a very low 1 LM. Great for when you just need a little light and don't want to attract a lot of attention. Then two steps up before you get to the 1100 LM blast. The pocket clip is heavy duty and will hold your light in place. It feels good in my hand but might be a little big for EDC carry in pants pocket.

Backyard beam shots low, med and high (bottom). Moonlight was not included.

Overall, it's a great light for the price.

Full disclosure: I received a discount from Thorfire on the VG-10S for review. However, I also own the previous version (VG-10), that I purchased at full price, and have enjoyed for over 2 years. I think the VG-10S is a great light that I would certainly recommend regardless of discount.

Thank you for taking the time to read the review and I hope you find it helpful.
