Thanks guys. Do you think 3 x IMR 16340s is ok? Or should it be a minimum of 3x IMR 18350s? Is the M3 or C3 adequate ? Or must it be an M6 setup w/ 18650s for any real runtime? How about 4x123s primaries ? I've got snow coming out of my ears here in Philly! Thanks.

Dan,

If you are driving the bulb at 12.8 volt (maximum drive) and you are running the bulb in a Megallanium with 3 x 18650s each having 2000 mah, and the amperage drawn by the bulb at this voltage is 5.8 amps (see Lux Luthor's Destructive Incan chart), the runtime would be 1.02 hours ( 3 x 2000 = 6000 mah / 5.8 amps = 6 amps / 5 amps = 1.02 hrs.). This is how much runtime 3 x 2000 mah 18650s would give you. Smaller batteries would produce less runtime. That is why FiveMega lists the recommended batteries as 18650s or 26650s (see p. 1 of the thread).

What a minute William...you can't add those mAhs together since they're in series. Only the voltage is added together. The "pack", so to speak, is still only 2000mAh so you gotta work the math with that. IF you truly got 2000 out of them at an average draw of 5.8a then you would get 20 minutes run time. 2000/5800x60= 20.69minutes.

You would absolutely murder even IMR 16340s with the FM1909. The voltage sag would be tremendous and quick. The run time would be next to nothing. I bet at that draw they'd be lucky to supply 350mAh worth of low voltage blah. We're taking 3-4 minutes and it wouldn't be bright and white. Even IMR 18350s are not up to the task. Go hybrid IMR 18650s AT LEAST with this bulb.

FM,

Is #18 the last pack of 1909's? If so, I'll take 'em. Otherwise, let me know if I'm safe to hold out a little longer.

Thanks!

Yeah but what do you think about sending more than 11.4 Volts to it other than the life shortening?
Like 11.8 to 12.0V

Bulbs and 6.35 socket arrived today. Nice, tough packaging for the bulbs!

With all my other incans (your parts are used in all of them except one), my eight 1909's should last a good long time. Thank you so much for making these, FM. They will be used with joy!

FM, I have an FM1909 bulb coming my way from CPFMP. That being said, I also have a "Black Edition" PhD M6 with the highest voltage setting on it being 10.8v.

That 10.8v setting is acceptable for the FM1909 bulb, correct? I don't want to risk flashing the bulb is why I ask.

Thanks man!

FM1909 will be slightly underdriven but will be bright enough.
My main concern is high drain from your Li-Cobalt 17670 cells.
