Re: SST-50 3rd Run

cmacclel - thanks for the quick response!

One more question, if ordered today, approximately how long till it would be in my hands?

Thanks again!

As soon as possible :) I cannot give you an accurate answer. I hope to complete them all within 30 days of finishing the 2nd run.

Re: SST-50 3rd Run

Hey Mac, not to be a pain, but I just noticed that you have myself and a couple others down for 1400mAh, who asked for 2800mAh.

Was that just a small error (understandable with the number/frequency of orders & options) or does the 4500K version not allow that much power?

Cheers!

Re: SST-50 3rd Run

I'm signing up. Mac, I'd like a titanium 3-mode 1.4-amp 4500K with the titanium clip and shipping insurance. However, I really really can't take delivery before the end of February, though it doesn't sound like this will be a "problem" since you're still working off the second run. Is pre-payment still 50%?

It's a full pre-payment as the 2nd run was. It was to much of a pain tracking 2 payments. There arleady not enough time in a day :)

Re: SST-50 3rd Run

What is the danger of using the 2800 mah burst mode for an extended period of time - overheating, damage to the LED, battery explosion? What is a safe length of time - 2 seconds or 2 minutes?

AR....Mac has an IR picture of his light running at 2500 mAH. It reaches 117 degrees in 2 minutes. 120 degrees is generally considered too hot to hold. Also....I have seen test on other SST-50/2500 mAH lights running on 16340 IMR's....the batteries are exhausted at about 13 minutes or so.

It was actually 2800mah and the lights where sitting on the workbench. When you are holding the light you act as a huge heatsink so you would most likely be able to use / hold it much longer :) The 2800mah high mode is a nice feature to have just that it's not meant to be used for extended periods of time.
