Any MXSs with Nichia 144 delivered yet? I was excited to get shipping notification last week but unfortunately the light decided to go to Hawaii which is not where I am. It's theoretically re routing to me now so I keep checking here to see if any made it to their excited owners yet.

Mine is out for delivery today and I am quite excited to get it. I will post my thoughts hopefully in the next couple of days after I receive it and have a chance to test it out. I am still surprised nobody ever started a thread about these since there is an existing batch with Cree emitters out there for some time. There seems to be very little in internet land on any of the Maelstrom MXS Standbys no matter where you look.

I was also surprised a thread was not started after seeing the success of the blue quark thread! Ok. Once I get mine I may have a bit to add after some comparisons. I actually finally joined Instagram since Jason seems to release a lot of information there but still have not seen much info on the MXS as you mentioned. Enjoy checking yours out today!! Congrats.

Nichia 144 is R9080 emitter like 219B but with huge output. XHP50.2 is poor R9050.
I might get my self one with this led
Thanks for the information. Your LED information is better than I was able to come up with by searching around the forums and google. If it's really R9080, that's exciting (on paper) but hopefully in use also.

Mine is here and charging :)
Alright, so you're the first person admitting to having both the Cree and the Nichia emitter versions! Perfect for detailed comparisons. Mostly joking. Thanks for your other MXS beam shot pics in relation to the Alpha and a few other lights over in the Prometheus sub-forum. I'm not great with posting links etc but it's in the "Alpha custom 319A thread", post #9 for anyone looking to see them.

Finally delivered! Battery is on the charger (no fancy inductive charging yet). It's heavier than I expected. Definitely has some weight to it. Anxious to get it out compared to the Hound dog 18650. Reflector isn't as deep so maybe it won't have quite the throw. Fun to use it and compare. Hopefully in the next few evenings.

For those looking for holster ideas for the Maelstrom MXS Standby, I have another for you. A Mark IV pepper spray duty holster fits the light like a glove. The Mark IV part is important as that denotes the size of the can. Here are some pics to demonstrate, which I added to my post in the MXS thread as well. Mine is the Bianchi brand but others should work, too, since it is a standard size.

On a Mini MKII Titanium (configuration 6) - it seems to skip to moon mode whenever it feels like it. Is this a dying driver thing, or normal operation? I'll cycle from moon light to low to medium, and sometimes it'll go back to moon mode instead of high (and sometimes it'll skip modes it seems). I've cleaned the threads, and it doesn't seem to help.

Is it only config 6?
