one of those LE's.... with one nice UV-emitter.... :D

I am building a few now with the Nichia 365 nm coupled with the 3S converter. I finally got the custom MCPCB's. Stay tuned......

Really? Where do you see that?

Ow, you can't read it, they didn't write it there, that's the problem, but it is a DB500 that needs a higher voltage because it is a buck.

@mcGizmo, I'm staying tuned :D thanks for the update!

Interesting. I wonder, how many light engines do I need? I've got a Seoul P4 in the mail, so maybe it would make more sense to get a good UV emitter instead of another Sundrop -- especially since the Luxeon K2 I'm going to put on the LE I just ordered is going to be warm enough that it can probably do the same job as a Sundrop. Hmm...so much to think about...

SD lights are especially cool to photograph small items for their even sitribution of light and the high CRI:

Ah, Bernie, love the yellow scale on your XM. Don't see too many of those! They are made just up the road from me. :D Good taste you have, BK.

To be back on-topic ... I installed a Cree LE (Haiku) in the XR-U head. and boy, was it bright  ... but I missed the High CRI beam so much I changed back. :)

Well pulling the trigger on one is the only answer... The Aussie Dollar is through the roof at the moment... Never been a time like now... :poke: lol

Re: Fall Waves of SunDrop XR-U available again

if I purchase this together with the UV Haiku, would both LE be interchangeable?

e.g. UV LE in XR-U head and Sundrop Engine in Haiku head?

Re: Fall Waves of SunDrop XR-U available again

I'm going to try and save Don some trouble since I asked this very question of him in another thread (darned if I can find it though). The Sundrop's engine won't work well in the Haiku because it's a 6 die so each die is too far off center and won't focus. BUT, the light engine from the UV Haiku should work in the Sundrop XR-U (not the original Sundrop). The Haiku's LE should work in the XR-U too.

The original Haiku LE works very well in the XR-U. It makes one hell of a bright moon-spot :D
