Well, since you have the capacity to get optics made-to-order, maybe you could come up with an Aleph-compatible right-angle head that uses a combination prism/TIR optic to send the beam at a 90-degree angle. You know, since you don't have anything better to do.

Bigtime, mine is the PERFECT house light it really makes walking around at night a pleasure, took it out in the garden the other night, found a rather large orb-weaver spider out back, brought out all the colours so wonderfully...
