Where to buy lathe bits?

My friend needs to buy some lathe bits. cut off tools, radius, etc. He wants to get them at a reasonable price. All suggestions welcomed. This is for a 3 in one machine, and the lathe bits are 1/2" square.

I'd go with indexables if I had a lathe

Indexables are nice , especially for the harder metals, and nice to have a set, but hss(high speed steel) is very good especially, on softer metals. It's also nice because it's easily sharpened, and easy to shape a cutter to a custom profile (curved, straight cutter for finning ect.). That's the reason that a lathe is just an initial investment, by the time that you have enough tolling to handle most jobs, you're heavily invested.
