In the Redwoods just North of the Golden Gate
I own the following AAA lights: fenix e01, thrunite Ti, maratac cu, nitcore t0, and arc aaa. They are all solid lights, but none of them are as solid as my HDS. I was wondering what AAA light would you consider the most durable? Thanks.
 
You already own it. The E01!:thumbsup: I've recently fallen in love with my E01 again. It's the only light that I will literally throw all around on purpose just to celebrate how tough it is. The fact that is an older design and a simple design, is why some people forget about them or don't give them a chance.
 
I really don't have any basis for comparison because most of the AAA lights I have I have had less than a year, but I have carried a Microstream for almost seven years now without a problem. It's not the brightest by far, but it is a solid dependable light that will run for over four hours with a lithium primary cell. I think that's pretty good for a $20 light.
 
I'll second that. Check out the Peak Eiger, Peak Eiger X, and Peak Eiger Ultra. Built like tanks.
 
E01 is known for its durability, so that would be a good choice.

I also have quite a few SL Microstreams and Stylus Pros (2AAA version of the MS) that have been thrown around a lot and work with no issues. I own a Microstream that was left in a lake for a couple days, and it works fine.

Peaks are built super well. I just got mine a few weeks ago, so I can't comment on long term durability, but so far I'm extremely impressed.

Yes, all great lights. I forgot to mention I like the Thrunite Ti, Maratac Ti, and Fenix E99 Ti. Moving into the more expensive custom category there's also the McGizmo Sapphire original, Sapphire 25, and Mako, which turn up here occasionally.

Finally, there's the Photon Fanatic Little Killer in various finishes (plain, anodized, DLC, etc.) but those come up rarely and always sell right away. I'm lucky to have two, a rainbow swirled ano one and a DLC (diamond like carbon) one and luv 'em.

If you're willing to cross over into the 10440 (AAA size) lithium ion category the TnC Micro Lux Turbo (the regular Micro Lux is 10280 or 2/3 AAA size) and Nano Lux lights are pretty amazing in terms of brightness especially.

X3 on the aaa microstream.

Disappears in your pocket if you want it to, comes with a 2 way clip for pocket carry or fasten to a ball cap as a headlamp and it's little 10 lumen output looks like 100 when it's dark.

More fans of that little over priced EO1,nasty little fella but bomb proof.Quite surprised that many pick it,plenty better in tat stores for a $.
